PEACE OF GOD
Wednesday – January 22, 2020, Tevet 25, 5780

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this encouraging, instructive, and course correcting Bible Study of the Book of John. We choose, not God, to succeed or fail, what will we choose? If you don’t believe that you have not been following these teachings or studying the Bible. I realize you may think that is a little rough but let me tell you that I have had it with defeat in my own life and in the lives of the dear people around me. The body of Christ needs to step to the plate and actually do what the Bible says! Please take time to read the blessing at the end, I have updated it. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to let us know you are with us and to spread the gospel. The featured picture today is of a beautiful winter scene taken out a window in my den (study).
I also want to take a moment to invite you to partner with us financially whether it be to the parent ministry (Eastern Gate Ministries International, Inc.), the Sabbatical Moments, or the Conference arm. You designate where you want the funds to go according to what God spoke to you. If you are aware of a pastor that is discouraged please let us know. Perhaps the Lord will lead us to reach out to that pastor and spouse as Sabbatical Moments. If you have a calling, a passion, for effective first-class conferences for women, men, or both please contact us. Donna is in the process of planning a first-class, second to none, Women’s Conference for May 30, 2020 at New Beginnings Church of God in Waterville, Maine. Now let’s turn our attention to our study by first reading aloud the primary Bible text.
John 14:25-28 (KJV)
25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
I will be continuing with the primary Bible text above today and the peace of God not peace with God. The cross resolved the problem of peace with God, now since Calvary all persons have access to peace with God.
Romans 5:1 (KJV)
1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Many are at war with God in one fashion or another by carnal thinking and words contrary to the Word of God, and not thoughts and words congruent with the Word of God, saint and sinner alike.
Romans 8:7 (KJV)
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
I don’t know about you but I don’t think it is such a hot idea to be in enmity against God. Of course, this can occur in our ignorance and there is mercy and grace for that so long as we are constantly seeking the face of God, studying to show ourselves approved. To be lazy, not proving the Word of God, discerning the traditions of man and the doctrine of devils, is sin, it is rebellion, and is enmity with God. Just what does the word enmity mean anyway? Glad you asked. According to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary it is hostility, a reason for opposition, and hatred. Now, let’s get back to the peace of God. Peace is a part of God’s DNA and because we are in His image and likeness and our spirit is a part of the very breath of God, we also have peace this same peace as part of our spiritual DNA. At the new birth our spirit man is quickened (made alive) and these fruits of the spirit can now manifest. If you have questions review yesterdays teaching. Now, let’s take a little different angle, and remember I am still talking about the peace of Jesus, the peace He made available to us all.
Ephesians 6:15 (KJV)
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Hopefully you recognize that this verse is a part of the passage having to do with spiritual warfare and the various pieces of the armor of God. That armor is God’s and it is ours for the putting on. We are not born with this armor on, it is not automatically applied at the new birth, it is our responsibility to find out about it and put it on by faith in obedience to God, the Word (love). It is our responsibility. No God is not in control of whether we put the armor on or not, we are. We choose whether to put the armor (defensive and offensive weapons of spiritual warfare) on or not and how skilled to become in its use.
Ephesians 6:11 (KJV)
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
In the preceding verse you are the understood subject. You will no doubt recall that we talked about this piece of armor when we talked about Jesus washing the feet of the disciples. We have a gospel (good news) of peace to share dear friends. The good news is that we can again be one with God, the prosperity of God is ours spiritual and natural, we can enter into His quietness or tranquility, we can enter His rest or provision, and are joined with and are in concert with God to show His glory and advance the Kingdom. This is all a part of the message of salvation, of entrance into the Kingdom of God. Entrance comes through repentance. Isaiah 61 which is our mission as well.
Isaiah 61:1 (KJV)
1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
Let us first receive this peace that Jesus made available and be diligent to have abundant fruit to share with others. It is a wonderful gift of God, part of the salvation package.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
