JESUS THE FIRSTFRUIT US IN OUR ORDER

Greetings precious saints of God and welcome to this ongoing study of the Bible Book of James. Have you come with ears to hear and eyes to see? Are you looking for information or revelation, light, to guide your life? It seems to me that this Book is among those that are straight forward and practical at first reading, studying. Now, let’s go ahead into our text for today.
James 1:18-21 (KJV)
18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Let us focus initially on verse eighteen. As I sit before the Lord writing this a couple of things come to mind. It was by the will of God the Father that salvation came to mankind. The word “begat” has to do with bringing forth. And how were we brought forth? By “the word of truth”. The Word of Truth is the Word of God.
1 Peter 1:23 (KJV)
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
The Word of God, Word of Truth, is the seed that gave birth or the bringing forth of our salvation. We had to receive that Word and purpose to let it have its perfect work which is to believe and act upon it.
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Jesus came that we could be restored to the Kingdom of God. He paid the price of our sin, all sin, on the Cross, stripping Satan of all he gained from Adam in Hell, and led the Old Testament captives free from the Bosom of Abraham to Heaven.
1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
When we make Jesus Lord and believe the Father raised Him from the dead, we are made alive in Christ Jesus, restored to the Kingdom and to the Father. At salvation our sins of the flesh are separated from us, which was the veil (sinful flesh) is removed that prevented the Holy Spirit from entering, and we are one spirit with God.
1 Corinthians 6:17 (KJV)
17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
Now back to the idea of firstfruits. Jesus was the first one to experience salvation of being made alive from the dead, dead in sin. He was made sin, He did not sin, therefore by the Words of His testimony and His own innocent Blood He was raised from the dead and restored to the right Hand of the Father. Also, we in our order are made alive from the dead by the words of our testimony and the Blood of Jesus.
1 Corinthians 15:20-24 (KJV)
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
TAKE HOME:
- It was and is the will of the Father that we be restored to the Kingdom of God, to fellowship with the Father.
- We are begat, brought forth, into the Kingdom of God by the Word of Truth which the incorruptible Word of God. This incorruptible Word is the spoken Word and the Lord Jesus Himself.
- You and I dear ones are firstfruits of the work of Calvary.
