JOY DEFINED
Thursday – April 2, 2020, Nisan 8, 5780

Greetings to all of our wonderful friends and partners of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word blog and welcome back to this challenging Bible Study of the Book of John. Our God dear ones is only good, there is nothing but good in and from our God. If there is anything stealing, killing, or destroying in any of our lives it is not the will of God it is the enemy who has entered through an open door. And, God didn’t open the door! Unfortunately, we ourselves open the door to our demonic enemies (we fight not against flesh and blood) to steal, kill, and destroy in our lives. God is not teachings us something or working something out in our lives. Many times, the enemy gets access through our own ignorance. Our ignorance may be due to laziness or a lack of understanding as to how important the Word of God is in our lives. And, sometimes we are just plain rebellious and walking after the flesh. Are we to live by every Word from the mouth of God or not (Deuteronomy 8:3, Matthew 4:4)? By the way that is not every Word from the mouth of God plus other words of our choosing! Whatever we build our faith in is what we will have in our lives whether that be good (Word of God) or bad (lies of the devil).
If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment and hit the “love” and “share” buttons to give us feedback and to expand the reach of these teachings. Ladies please be sure you have the upcoming Women’s Conference on your calendar. It is the 30th of May, 2020 at New Beginnings Church of God, is open to all ladies, the theme is “The Virtuous Woman”, registration is $25.00 with lunch is provided. Our speaker is the Rev. Denise Stiewig from San Antonio, Texas a dynamic and Anointed woman of God. Come expecting! Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text reading it aloud.
John 15:10-14 (KJV)
10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
In our text the word “joy” is a noun and the thesaurus supplies quite a list of alternate words like; happiness, delight, pleasure, enjoyment, bliss, ecstasy, elation, joyfulness, thrill and many others. The antonym for joy is sadness or sorrow. We have all seen saints that are in a constant state of sadness or sorrow about one thing or another. What does that tell us about their joy? More importantly what does that tell us and hopefully them about their obedience to the Word of God. One cannot be in obedience to God and sad. That is not to say an obedient person might not experience sadness as a transitory state but not an ongoing state of mind (spirit). Now let’s take a look at this word “joy” in the Greek and Hebrew. In the Hebrew it means to be exceedingly glad, in the Greek it means cheerfulness, calm delight, gladness, × greatly, (× be exceeding) according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Can we say that this joy (when full) is an overflowing cheerfulness, great delight, and exceeding gladness? This is wonderful, this is who and how our God is Himself and wants us to be. That is why part of Him is in us (Genesis 1:26, 2:7) just as we are in our natural children. As we take all of this information and apply it to John 15:11 we can see that this is a state of being, a way of living, that will bring a hunger to have the same to others. Who doesn’t want to be overflowingly happy and continuously victorious?
The same joy Jesus had and hopefully each of us have comes with salvation, and being obedient to the Word of God. There is no smart alternative to obeying God. The Bible Numerology of John 15:11 is very fascinating as well. John the fourth Book of the New Testament means light, the fifteenth chapter is God’s provision, and the verse eleven is alignment with God. The Anointed Word (light) of God is God’s provision, for alignment with Him and nothing but victory and overflow. Before we finish the week consider the following.
Nehemiah 8:10 (KJV)
10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
Here in Nehemiah the people have been disobedient and taken into captivity once again like many reading this teaching. Nehemiah had favor with the King and was allowed to return to Jerusalem to restore the walls, the Temple, and the city. Upon the reading and teaching of the Word of God there came a great repentance. Light came by the Word of God, light is a wonderful disinfectant in the natural and spiritual, a wonderful provision of God, and they repented coming into alignment with God. This alignment brought great joy to God and as a result the goodness (love) of God could flow to the people giving them strength. Isn’t the Word of God just so wonderful? In the end it always boils down to obedience to the Word of God with a joyful, quick to do it heart.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
