SPECIAL EASTER MESSAGE

Greetings and welcome to a Special Easter, Resurrection teaching. What is more important to commemorate than the Resurrection of the Christ? Where would we be without the Resurrection? The Cross and the tomb are empty! We would be in the same place as Adam fallen. Instead, we are delivered from sin to righteousness, and from death to life.
Colossians 2:13-15 (KJV)
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
As I was preparing this I thought about Easter/Resurrection Sunday from Heaven’s view. Imagine Jesus saying to the Father, lets look and see how my people are celebrating this great liberation day. They look and they see the homes of their family decorated with bunnies and eggs. They look at the meeting places of the Church and see their people hiding candy eggs for children to find. This is the view from Heaven of much of the Church. Oh, what a sad view.
I write about the Feasts of the Lord of which Passover is one based on the Hebrew Calendar and not the Gregorian Calendar. On the Hebrew Calendar the date of Passover is always the 14th of Nisan. How it falls on the Gregorian Calendar is dependent upon other calculations that do not use the Hebrew Calendar. Of course, there is no Resurrection date on the Hebrew calendar, but we know from Scripture it was three days and nights later making it the 17th of Nisan. Interestingly the number seventeen is the number of victory. Victory given us by Christ Jesus over death and Hell. Passover on the 14th means deliverance and salvation. The lamb was set aside on the 10th and ten is the number of responsibility. All of this happening in the first month (Nisan or Abib) of the Biblical year meaning oneness or unity with God. By the will of the Father in Blood Covenant with the man Abraham had the responsibility to bring the Messiah into the earth. He died securing deliverance from the curse of The Law of Sin and Death and salvation which is safety in every arena of life for eternity. He rose on the 17th of Nisan victorious over death and Hell.
Let’s look at Scripture concerning the Resurrection of Christ. First, we see the two Mary’s coming to the tomb before dawn.
Mark 16:1-6 (KJV)
1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?
4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.
6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
He is risen and because He is risen, we also shall rise. He paid the price of eternal life for the spirit man and an immortal physical body.
1 Corinthians 15:20-23 (KJV)
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
Jesus dealt with the sin problem and for all that receive Him sin is forever blotted out. As a result, we have eternal life and will soon have a glorified body.
Philippians 3:21 (KJV)
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Thank you, Jesus, for paying the price of my sin giving me everlasting life and a brand-new body like unto yours. Lord teach me how to build the family name as a son in the Kingdom of God.
TAKE HOME:
- We are delivered from sin to righteousness, and from death to life.
- Jesus is our Passover Lamb bringing delivering us from death and Hell giving us salvation. Salvation is absolute safety in every arena of life walking in obedience to the Word. Remember the ancient Israelites came out of Egypt wealthy and healthy. We do not have a lesser Covenant.
- Let us rejoice in the Communion Table knowing that our sin and all sin brings has been dealt with by the broken body of Jesus and His shed Blood.
Lord willing, I will resume right our study of Melchizedek right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
