GOD JUDGETH

Greetings dear ones and welcome to what for many is controversial teaching. The reason it is controversial to some is the engrained traditions of men, doctrines of demons and sacred cows. Many will fight, even break fellowship over these wicked beliefs in the face of the Truth. They are wicked not only because they come from the evil ones (demons/Satan) but they keep one out of the promises of God and from being productive sons of the Kingdom of God. Remember this very often half quoted Scripture.
Hosea 4:6 (KJV)
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
We all lack knowledge to one degree or another. Where we get into trouble is when we reject the Truth and when we are not pursuing knowledge. It is very dangerous to reject Truth. When we hear something contrary to what we believe we must examine it, the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul tells us to prove all things.
1 Thessalonians 5:21 (KJV)
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
When we reject knowledge, the Truth, we are rejecting God Himself and the harvest on that is that we are rejected as priest to Him and our children are at risk. Now, I’m going to shift directly to our topic with the Words of Jesus.
John 10:33-35 (KJV)
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
For some reason this makes people very nervous. Why? Traditions of men (horrible teachings of false humility), doctrines of demons and sacred cows. Why this is a problem is a mystery to me. Has anyone read the creation story? God breathed of Himself into the clay pot we call our physical body. Is He divine or not? Putting Himself in us causes us to be divine as well. This is no different than we see in the natural where a species reproduces after itself or is of like kind. We are not capital G God, but we are in His image, likeness, and of like kind making us little g gods. Consider the following verse and then I am moving forward.
Psalm 8:5 (NLT)
5 Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor.
The following Psalm is at least in part our marching orders and the first place it is explicitly stated that we are gods under God. I say explicitly because it is also clear in the creation account, first and second chapters of Genesis. We must study to show ourselves approved of God. Now, let’s look at what Jesus was quoting told us the Scripture could not be broken.
Psalm 82:1-8 (KJV)
1 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.
Insight: Today God stands among the body of Christ and judges us individually and corporately.
2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
Insight: Our Heavenly Father is asking us the same questions. How long will we be unjust, deny justice, and accept, vote for, the wicked about us. When we fail to act in the face of injustice, we become complicit in that injustice and equally guilty. We see the faces of the people, but our battle is not with them it is with the evil spirits oppressing, even possessing them. We have complete, absolute, authority over demons, they must bow.
3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
Insight: Doesn’t this sound a lot like what Jesus said at the beginning of His earthly Ministry, it was part of His mandate and ours as well.
Luke 4:18-19 (KJV)
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Are we doing this or just singing and talking about it? The human author of this Psalm Asaph was a Levite, and a chief musician under King David writes by direction of the Holy Spirit. Read verses three and four again carefully.
5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
Insight: Those walking in the darkness saint and sinner alike do not know and do not understand and need light in their lives. The founding principles of God have been set aside in favor of the demonic deceptions which manifest as traditions of men, doctrines of demons, and sacred cows. Let us return today and everyday to the firm foundation of Truth.
6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
The Holy Spirit through the Levite Asaph reaffirms that we, those who worship God are in fact divine in the image and likeness of our Father. However, because we are not functioning as gods in the earth we will die like all natural men. The children, sons, of God we not intended to die but even with the fall, the curse, we are not to die from the curse. We are to die by permission.
8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
TAKE HOME:
- Scripture cannot be broken.
- Our mandate on the earth is just like that of the Master plus.
- We are gods, let’s act like it!
