VICTORY IN JESUS MY SAVIOR FOREVER

Greetings dear brothers and sisters in Christ, and welcome to this ongoing study of “Father Abraham”. We have been reviewing Abraham’s life. It is encouraging for us all to see how God can and does flow in and through imperfect people to accomplish His will. Abrahams life was pivotal to the redemption of mankind and the restitution of all things. The Promised One came by obedience and Blood Covenant. It was messy like the making of sausage as they say. Today we are going to take not so much a journey down memory lane as victory lane. This is part sixteen which by the way is the Bible number of love (agapē/ agapaō). The need for a Redeemer starts in the Garden of Eden.
Genesis 3:6 (KJV)
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
God speaks to Adam and Eve and now to the Serpent. Because of Adam, not the Serpent, death, the curse entered mankind and the earth.
Genesis 3:15 (KJV)
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Following this God institutes a system of atonement, a covering, but One is coming who will blot out sin. Then God finds a man with whom He can make Blood Covenant, and we see the beginnings of the process.
Genesis 12:1-3 (KJV)
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
God tells Abram that in Him all families of the can be blessed, that is empowered in submission to Him for redemption, salvation. After a fair amount of messy sausage making the deal is sealed on Mount Moriah between the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, and Abraham. Let’s read a portion of that once again.
Genesis 22:17-18 (KJV)
17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
Wow, victory complete dominance over the gates of Hell in Christ Jesus.
Matthew 16:18 (KJV)
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Now, the Promised Seed has come.
Luke 2:6-11 (KJV)
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Jesus, the Seed, was born to die, die in our stead.
John 19:30 (KJV)
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Thank you Jesus! Let’s sum it up with the following passage.
Colossians 2:13-15 (KJV)
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
TAKE HOME:
- It is finished all because of the faith of Abraham, his obedience and faithfulness to Blood Covenant.
- The gates of Hell did not prevail against the Christ and cannot prevail against the Church, each individually or corporately.
- Because of Jesus, the Seed, the ordinances against us were nailed to the Cross blotted out forever.
As the Lord wills, I will return tomorrow with fresh revelation. The Lord bless and keep you and yours. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
