MORE THOUGHTS ON OFFENSE
Monday – May 25, 2020, Sivan 2, 5780
Greetings dear saints of God, friends and partners alike and welcome back to another week of our study of the Book of John. Today is not only the National holiday of Memorial Day but Donna and I have been married one year today. God is so good dear saints of God. This weeks teaching on the Book of John is shortened by a teaching on the Feast of Pentecost Thursday. God is so good dear ones. What did He say? As I write this (27th of April) it appears that the pestilence named the Corona Virus may have plateaued and is declining in terms of the daily death toll. Do not get too comfortable and do not let your guard down (1 Thessalonians 5:3).
Also, we see confusion, darkness from the “Hermit Kingdom”, North Korea with reports that Kim Jung Un may either be in a vegetative state or dead. It was prophesied some years ago by Kim Clement that this leader would die and there would be a subsequent reunification of North and South Korea. On December 11, 2017 at 5:55 am the Lord gave me a Prophetic Word as follows; “North Korea is about to crumble, the kings and priests of our God are to decree and intercede”. We decree the collapse of that horrible regime and intercede for the peoples including the leadership for the mercy, the salvation of God.
Revelation 1:6 (KJV)
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
We are the ones (Church) with governing authority in the earth not the devil and his bunch, and we are the ones with supernatural power backing us up. We are His kings; we are His priests in the earth. When will we get a revelation of this and act like the governing authority in the earth and the interceding priestly authority in the earth? Kings decree things by faith, in love, led of the Holy Spirit and it is done by our Father. Priests intercede for the mercy and salvation of our God available through Christ Jesus. Now, let’s turn to our primary Bible text and read it out loud. Yes, out loud, faith comes by hearing!
John 16:1-4 (KJV)
1 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.
2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
3 And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
4 But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.
Jesus is in the final hours of His ministry as a man in the earth and is about to go to the Cross, die spiritually and physically, and descend into Hell. Due to His innocent Blood and the Words of His testimony He will be delivered into the Bosom of Abraham at His Resurrection, and will lead captivity (those in Abraham’s Bosom) captive. The Old Testament saints are saved by that same Blood that saves us, and by the same testimony of the lips that saves us and were taken into Heaven. That precious Blood was then applied to the Mercy Seat to testify forever of our salvation, our cleansing from sin. Jesus is telling them that the primary reason for His speaking to them was so they would not be offended. Do you suppose that our knowledge and faith in His Words could shield us from offense? Of course, it will! We studied in previous lessons that offense cost John the Baptist his head. John the Baptist became offended in Jesus. What has it cost us, and if we don’t learn to avoid being offended what might it cost us in the future?
As I move forward, I want to remind us of the definition of offense and therefore the devil’s intention in bringing offense. According to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary this word “offense” means to entrap, i.e. trip up (figurative stumble [transitive] or entice to sin. The devil’s full time mission is to get us off track, into sin, off the plan God has for us. In Gods’ plan for us is where our wealth, our health and our true productivity for the Kingdom is located. In our text (verse one) Jesus as much as said an old familiar saying: to be forewarned is to be forearmed. Perhaps an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure would apply as well. Jesus is our primary example not Peter, Paul, Isaiah or anyone else. We can learn much from all the peoples in the Scripture and even in our lives but our perfect example is Jesus. We are to live by every Word from the mouth of God not the mouth of the various characters in Scripture. We can learn from the thoughts, words, and actions of the various characters in the Bible, but we live by the Words from the mouth of God.
As I end for today, let’s determine that we will develop our knowledge of the Word of God unlike other knowledge but as the governing knowledge. Let us keep our focus on doing what we know we are to do according to the Word of God recognizing that Jesus is the only true judge. We must never allow ourselves to lose focus on Him, on the Word of God. We are ensnared when we look at the circumstances swirling about us and/or other words. Believe it or not we are in charge of our circumstances. The enemy will bring many temptations to sin, to doubt the Word of God, or do contrary to the Word of God. We alone choose to believe the Word of God and bring the wonderful things it promises into our lives. We alone choose to be ensnared by the offense, the temptation, and suffer stealing, killing, and destroying in our lives all courtesy of our choice and the thief. Let us judge ourselves and see what we have chosen.

Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
