MORE JOY

Here is Donna and me out to a restaurant again, I believe this is Ruby Tuesday in Waterville, Maine, a good local, go to place. Greetings to one and all and welcome back to this powerful Bible Study of the Book of John. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as you possibly can to expand the reach of the Truth. God is so good to give us His Word. If we will choose to live by every Word from the mouth of God, we will walk in victory every day. Look, there is no defeat in the Kingdom of God, in order to be defeated, we must go into enemy territory. That is to say, doing things the worlds way (Satan is the god of this world) will bring stealing, killing, and destroying into our lives (defeat). When will we connect the dots and get Satan out of our lives? Satan and his minions are relentless in presenting us with opportunities to do things his way. Jesus told His disciples to watch and pray that they enter not into temptation.
Matthew 26:41 (KJV)
41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
A failure to pray, to be vigilant, makes us vulnerable to the wiles of the devil(s). It is not inevitable that we enter into temptation, we must choose to enter. Let’s quit cozying up to temptation.
1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
What do you say we follow hard after the Scripture and not our emotions or our own understanding or the opinions of others? I for one have no interest in being devoured by the devil and showing up in Heaven broke, sick, and fruitless. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of John and read it our loud, yes, out loud.
John 16:19-22 (KJV)
19 Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
I will continue to talk, teach, about joy today, which we found in the twentieth verse above. This is the same word as in Galatians 5:22 which declares ‘joy’ as a fruit of our spirit man. The Biblical Numerology of Galatians 5:22 is over the top wonderful. Galatians is the 9th Book of the New Testament the number of Divine completeness. Five is the number of Grace and Glory. And, twenty-two is the number of light (Anointed Word of God). We walk in Divine completeness when we are walking arm in arm with God with abundant fruit pouring from us. This is in contrast to walking in the ways of the world or some mixture with no Godly fruit only the works or fruits of the flesh manifesting. Are we walking in overflowing abundance in every area of life or is there stealing, killing, and destroying in our life? Can the favor and the goodness of God be readily seen in our lives or are we in a daily struggle with our finances and with our bodies? Come on Church, dear saints of God, let’s get out of the land of not enough and the land of just enough and get into the land of more than enough! The number twenty-two has to do with light, a symbol for the Anointed Word of God. Are the words of God coming out of our mouths or are we speaking the words of the devil? I am not done with this topic but before we close let’s look a little further at this word ‘joy’ and first use. The first use of the word ‘joy’ is found in the following Scripture.
1 Samuel 18:5-7 (KJV)
5 And David went out whithersoever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely: and Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul’s servants.
6 And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of musick. (Bold added)
7 And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.
Much can be said here regarding types and shadows of things to come. One thing I want us all to notice is that ‘joy’ is associated with victory. There is no real joy (perhaps feigned) in defeat. Real joy does not fad when we get back in the car or arrive home. Obedience to God brings overwhelming victory and joy to ourselves and to all around us. Honoring God with our obedience allows His Power to flow in and through us (“the joy of the Lord is our strength”). Joy puts us and others into a position for victory. You and I dear ones are kings in the earth now and forevermore. We work under the King of kings and we must be careful like David of old to do as we are instructed. In this way, God will promote us, and those around us will honor us. Lord willing, I will pick up here next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
