JOY

Greetings beloved and dear saints of God and welcome back to this word by word, verse by verse, teaching of the Book of John. Let us decide right now that this Word will change us making us more and more like Him day by day. The featured picture today is of a portion of the Sebasticook River near Manson Park in Pittsfield, Maine courtesy of Joe Getchell Jr, a friend of this ministry. Please take a moment right now to share this teaching as widely as possible expanding the reach of these teachings, the Truth. Each person in any given congregation was sent or drawn there by God the Holy Spirit to make that body more perfect (complete). They have natural talents and supernatural gifts that will fill a vital role in the life of that Church. Many of these will be babies in Christ but none the less talented and Anointed needing guidance into maturity. It is the responsibility of the more mature leadership to disciple and lead these people into maturity. It is important that discipling occur in a gifting by a more mature person in the same gifting. For example, a Pastor should not be discipling a Prophet and so on. Everyone should have the opportunity to exercise and grow in their talents and gifts. To reject one sent or called of God is to reject God. Remember what God told Samuel.
1 Samuel 8:7 (KJV)
7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text from the wonderful Book of John and see what the Lord wants to teach us. Please read this text aloud, that is out loud. Let us get these Words, all Words of Scripture, in our ears, receive them, believe them, and act upon them. In this way we please the Father and we become effective sons in the Kingdom of God.
John 16:19-22 (KJV)
19 Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
Let’s talk a little more about joy (verse twenty, twenty is the number of redemption). If you do the research you will find that the word ‘joy’ is feminine in gender and singular in number. This tells us that joy has the potential to be productive (produces fruit – things beneficial to ourselves and to others) under the right circumstances by faith. With joy we will bear fruit for the Kingdom of God and without joy we will not bear fruit. We are designed to bear fruit. Our fruit will either be that of the flesh or of the spirit. Which will we choose? I do not believe it is possible to not bear fruit, it is just what fruit are we bearing. Think for a moment about the fruits of the spirit (our spirit) in Galatians. Immediately before that are the fruits of the flesh. Let’s take a look at this in the Complete Jewish Bible.
Galatians 5:19-21 (CJB)
19 And it is perfectly evident what the old nature does. It expresses itself in sexual immorality, impurity and indecency;
20 involvement with the occult and with drugs; in feuding, fighting, becoming jealous and getting angry; in selfish ambition, factionalism, intrigue
21 and envy; in drunkenness, orgies and things like these. I warn you now as I have warned you before: those who do such things will have no share in the Kingdom of God!
Before we say we are doing none of these, let’s take some time to meditate, ask the Holy Spirit to expose any darkness, and examine (judge) ourselves. The words world, flesh, carnal, and old nature are interchangeable and refer to the ways of the world.
Romans 8:6 (KJV)
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
I am hoping you and I are on the same page and have turned from death (eternal separation from God) to life (eternal oneness with God), and peace. As I end for today let us look at the fruits of our spirit which are identical to those of God (Holy Spirit) for we are in Their image and likeness.
Galatians 5:22-23 (CJB)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 humility, self control. Nothing in the Torah stands against such things.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
