OUR JOY IS HIS STRENGTH

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this engaging, enlightening, and empowering Bible Study of the Book of John. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible to extend the reach of the Truth. The featured picture today was a selfie taken on Peaks Island, Maine. Are we ready to receive, believe, and act upon the light (revealed Truth) we see today? Spiritual light is not just knowing something as information but having revelation, insight, and conviction to act upon that Truth no matter what. If we are not ready to receive, believe, and act upon what is contained in this and other teachings, why bother to read on? I encourage each of us to receive with eagerness of heart (Acts 17:10-11) but to prove or establish each point by two or three witnesses (2 Corinthians 13:1). Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it out loud.
John 16:22-24 (KJV)
22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
We have been talking about ‘joy’, supernatural, spiritual, fruit of the spirit ‘joy’. I have asked us a question which we have been meditating for a couple of days now which is this; if the joy of the Lord is our strength, is our joy His strength? The word ‘joy’ in all three of the following Scriptures is the same Greek word.
Romans 14:17 (KJV)
17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
John 16:22 (KJV)
22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
This word joy means to have a cheerfulness, a calm delight, and to be well off. Perhaps you have heard someone say; “that guy doesn’t have any worries, he is well off”. Well dear saints of God you can’t be any more well off than as a child of God. It doesn’t get any better than this. This being well off is not just talking money but every aspect of life.
Nehemiah 8:10 (KJV)
10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
The word ‘joy’ translated from the Hebrew in the preceding verse means to rejoice, to make glad. When the Lord is glad (concerning us) we have a strength that is not available when we are not making Him glad. I hope you know that we should not be making our God sorry or sad concerning us. We become sorry or sad (opposite of joy) with our children so does God when we are disobedient. When the Father (God) is pleased with us His Power can flow in our lives, therefore when we bring Him ‘joy’ His power is released on our behalf. So, what about the other way around? Would it be a true statement to say; the joy of David (put in your name) is God’s strength. If our children or others are sad sacks does that bring us joy? No, of course not, and neither does it bring joy to God. When another person is joyful does that bring joy to us. Yes, of course. So, when we are in joy, the fruit of joy is flowing in our life, God is most pleased, and His joy concerning us releases Power into our lives. The answer to the question is ‘yes’ our joy does give our Lord strength. When we are in the mulley grubs He is powerless to act on our behalf. Just as with love, our expression of love towards Him triggers His love towards us (John 14:21). Our joy towards Him triggers His joy towards us, and His joy is our strength or His manifestation in our lives. His Word is just so wonderful!
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
