GIFTS – PART FORTY
GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this illuminating and empowering Bible Study titled “Gifts”. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible to extend the reach of this ministry. Last Friday I left off with a beginning discussion of The Gifts of the Spirit. God is so good to us dear ones. God has made all things available to us but none of it just drops on us, we have to choose, believe, receive, and then take any and all prescribed actions. Salvation is the first and foundational gift for the flow of any or all others.
Romans 6:23 (KJV)
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Ephesians 2:8 (KJV)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
I spent a great deal of time laying out the foundation that had to be laid in order for this gift of salvation to be a reality for anyone. From the Day of Sin and Death in the Garden of Eden mankind desperately needed a Savior, a place of safety. Let’s take a moment and review the definition of the word “saved” and look at a couple of Scriptures.
Romans 10:9 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
According to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary to be saved means to be safe, delivered, protected (literal or figurative), healed, preserved, made to do well, and be or make whole. At the moment of salvation our spirit man is quickened, made alive, and the second death no longer can affect us.
Revelation 20:6 (KJV)
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Praise the Lord that all who are saved are part of the “first resurrection” and shall have no part in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:14, 21:8). Following salvation (sufficient to make Heaven) Jesus says it is important to be filled with or baptized in the Holy Spirit. At salvation He is in us and with the baptism He is all over us and is the source of Power in our lives.
Acts 1:4-5 (KJV)
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Acts 1:8 (KJV)
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
We are not only to be saved but we are to “receive power” which is of the Holy Ghost (Spirit). God (like us sometimes) uses the tools He has at hand but He tells us plainly that the most effect witness is the one baptized with the Holy Spirit. The reason is so that we can operate in the Power of God doing good and healing those oppressed of the devil.
Acts 10:38 (KJV)
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
In addition to the empowerment to do good on a supernatural level and to heal those oppressed of the devil by the Power of God led of the Holy Spirit (Ghost) we receive one or more gifts of the Holy Spirit. Let’s meditate the following verses.
1 Corinthians 12:1 (KJV)
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
1 Corinthians 12:4-7 (KJV)
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
