BACK TO ASKING

Greeting dear and precious friends and welcome back to this hard-hitting Bible Study of the Book of John. Please take a few moments and share these teachings starting right now to expand your witness and the reach of this Ministry. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture today is of Donna and me last year at Archer’s on the Pier in Rockland, Maine, an excellent dinning spot. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 16:23-28 (KJV)
23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
I have spent a great deal of time talking about the word ‘ask’ and I will pick up with that again today. The Lord has been working on me about some additional information so I am passing it along. We are not servants, we are not beggars, we are sons and daughters of the Father God. Jesus is our big brother (first born from the dead). God the Holy Spirit is the Blessing, our Helper, our Teacher, the One who supplies the Power according to the will of God in line with our exercised authority. You may have heard people talking about prayer and explain the absence of the manifestation of the prayer something like this: “you just never know, sometimes the answer is yes, and sometimes it is no, sometimes it is wait”. Really? What Scriptures is this based upon?
2 Corinthians 1:19-21 (KJV)
19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.
20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. (Bold added)
21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;
Do we believe this? If something else is in our thought life and coming out of our mouths we must repent not just say, “I’ll try to do better”. Where does it say in Scripture to try and do better? For a moment let’s go back to the following verses.
Mark 11:23 (KJV)
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Who is Jesus telling to talk to the mountain in this verse? Did He advise us to beg God and ask God to move the mountain? So, who is telling the mountain (any part of the curse or obstacle) to move? Once we have issued the command (exercised our authority) to the mountain, what or who moves the mountain? Our faith pleases God and His Hand (Holy Spirit) moves the mountain. We have all authority in the earth, natural and supernatural, period. We must not doubt or waver.
James 1:6-8 (KJV)
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Do we believe this? If we are not receiving in our lives what would be the thing we can conclude? As I move along, let me reiterate again, if we are asking or begging and waiting, we will have nothing from the Lord. We must do our part which is to exercise our God given authority according to the will of God.
James 4:3-4 (KJV)
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
We ask (command) according to the will of God. Do you know where we find the will of God a great deal of the time? In the Word of God! There are other times however when we must hear the still small voice of the Lord. Are we practicing hearing His voice?
1 John 5:14-15 (KJV)
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
Notice the word ‘petitions’ in the preceding verse. In the natural a petition contains the rational for something to be done. Same in the Kingdom of God and the rational (promises of God) comes right out of the Word of God. Lord willing, I will pick up here next Monday.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
