THE GREATER THINGS – PART TEN

Greetings dear and precious friends and partners of this Ministry and welcome back to this ongoing Sunday Bible Study of “The Greater Things”. Before I go further please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible to expand the reach of this Ministry, the reach of the Truth. The Presidential election and thousands of other elections are now just 2 days away. I want to take a moment here to remind each and every Christian to vote. Vote for life, free speech, law and order, Israel, marriage between one man and one woman, and a vibrant free enterprise system of commerce (all of these are God’s idea). If you think that any of this is found in the Democrat Party you need to read their platform again.
The COVID-19 Pandemic remains with us and is and will continue to spike into the winter. I encourage all Christians to follow the law, wear your masks don’t be a “mask slacker” (yes, yes, yes, they work!), keep gatherings under 50 indoors and 100 outdoors, and practice social distancing. If you have questions, I suggest you go back and again read the Position Paper I published on the 12th of September. It would be a serious mistake to think of that paper as one opinion among many. I do not say that pridefully but with all Godly humility. Many Churches have been and remain horrible examples of good citizenship of civil government and the Kingdom of God. We have an obligation as citizens to follow the laws of the land and God. Disobeying the law of the land is disobedience to God which has far more important and far reaching consequences.
Now, let’s turn our attention to this extraordinarily important topic of “The Greater Things”, but first the works of Jesus. I left off yesterday with a discussion of trees within us that are bearing fruits contrary to the Word of God and that these trees must be rooted out. Trees bearing the fruits of the Kingdom of God must take their place and then and only then will it be common place to find ourselves and see others doing the works of Jesus. It is His command to all of us (believers) that we do these things, all of us, all believers. If we are not doing the things, He did it would follow that we are not believers. I don’t mean that we are not saved but that we just plain don’t believe we can do these things.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Now, let’s go back and see what offended the Pharisees of that day and ask ourselves if the same might be going on today in the organized traditional Church (yes, even your Church and mine).
Matthew 15:7-9 (KJV)
7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
We do a lot of hollering and clapping about the good things of God in the Bible and for the most part have none of it. We draw near with our mouth but our hearts are far from Him. How can I say that? If we had a heart from Him, we would seek after Him becoming just like Him doing the things He did and not just singing and hollering about it. We have a form of godliness and not a lick of evidence of real godliness in our lives. Godliness would be doing the works Jesus did and the greater works.
Isaiah 61:1-4 (KJV)
1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
As I close for this week let’s focus on verse three and ask ourselves if we are “trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified” or are we something else? Do we really reflect Him or do we just have a Christianized form of the world’s way of living? Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Sunday.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
