Once again it is Tuesday and time to be reminded to pray for the various governments here in the United States and for our friends to the north. All persons on the earth whether they are aware of it or not are in a struggle for their very lives both spiritual and physical. Pray for a renewal of the knowledge in the United States that we are a covenant nation with Almighty God and that we must return to our part in that covenant. When we do, all the nations of the earth can be blessed including our Canadian friends to our north and more especially the nation of Israel. This week I am honoring the Province of the Northwest Territories and have featured a map locating the Northwest Territories within the nation of Canada. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) Back to Ephesians –
Ephesians 1:6-8 (KJV)
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
I left off yesterday with Ephesians 1:6-7 and the discussion of how we are beloved in and because of Jesus Christ. Jesus the sinless, innocent Lamb of God shed blood for mankind and for God being all man and all God. Jesus, The Word become flesh consummated The Blood covenant being made sin for us taking away the sins of the whole world. We enter that Covenant by accepting Jesus as Lord and we are then “in” Jesus Christ, and in the Kingdom of God. It all started with Abram/Abraham and his willingness to enter into The Blood Covenant with God. God loved Adam and he never stopped loving fallen mankind and He was relentless to provide man’s redemption which would require a Blood Covenant and He, God, would have to leave Heaven, suffer and die both spiritually and physically and then enter into Hell itself for our redemption. And He did it for the joy set before Him which was the return of His family.
Hebrews 12:1-4 (HCSB)
1 Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us,
2 keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.
3 For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, so that you won’t grow weary and lose heart.
4 In struggling against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.
We are not like Adam, Jesus was the last Adam, we are like Jesus. We are fully returned to the image and likeness of Elohim (pleural God) in Christ Jesus, returned fully to the god class of living being, and we are of like kind with Elohim. We are a brand new creation, a new brand new creature.
2 Corinthians 5:17-18 (KJV)
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
You in I who have accepted Jesus as Lord are in Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One, and the Holy Spirit) and we are a new creature. There has never been one like us and there will never be one like us to follow. Look at what Scripture says about that remnant of the end time Church which brings about the culmination of all things.
Joel 2:1-3 (KJV)
1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. (Emphasis added)
3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
Another very special aspect of our position in Christ Jesus is that if we do sin we are convicted (not condemned like Adam) and we can run to the Father, to Jesus, to the Blood. This was not available to Adam although God in His graciousness awaiting the Savior provided a temporary covering of sin (the life of innocent animals). You and I brother and sister have had our sins expunged forever at the foot of the Cross when we accepted Jesus as Lord.
1 John 1:7-9 (KJV)
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
When we realize we have sinned we are wise to run to Him, run to the Blood, confess, agree with Him, and He will be faithful and just honoring The Blood Covenant forgiving our sin.
