BELIEVE, DECREE, ENJOY THE GLORY

Praise the Lord you have returned to this powerful Bible Study from the Book of John. The Word of God is so wonderful laying out for us the road of success in the Kingdom of God. However, we do have to study to show ourselves approved to be trusted with the authority and Power of God. Yesterday we looked at the trinity of believing on Jesus, believing on the Scripture, and believing on the name of Jesus. I discussed that the three things must work in concert and when any one of them is missing there will be failure in our life and ministry. Let’s again read our primary Bible Text aloud and then move forward.
John 2:11 (KJV)
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
John 2:22-25 (KJV)
22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
Verse eleven tells about those who believed in His abilities, verse twenty-two are those who believed Scripture, and verse twenty-three is those who believe in His name however as we will see shortly none of that caused Jesus to attach Himself to them. He considered them unstable, they did not believe on Him as Messiah (Savior), and the Scripture, and His name as a package. Now let’s compare John 2:11 with John 2:22 which tells us that after the Resurrection of Jesus the disciples remember the Words of Jesus, and believed the Scripture. These also were only acting or having faith on one of three essential coordinated ingredients to the manifestation of glory in the earth. Remember, the practicing Jews believe the entire Old Covenant (Scripture) but they do not believe on Jesus or His name and therefore are outside the Kingdom of God and are without authority and the flow of God’s Power. Let’s take a look at what Jesus had to say just before His ascension. God will work with us but He does not confirm us but confirms His Word with miraculous signs. We believers in Jesus, declare the Word of God in the authority of the name of Jesus and God’s goodness (glory) will be manifest.
Mark 16:17 (KJV)
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
What do believers believe, they believe the Word of God, they believe upon Christ Jesus as Lord and they believe they can speak with unchallengeable authority in the name of Jesus. Notice who is casting out the devils! It is not Jesus, it is the Power of God (including Angels) flowing through a believer, declaring the Word of God or the desired result in the authority of Jesus name.
Mark 16:20 (GW)
20 The disciples spread {the Good News} everywhere. The Lord worked with them. He confirmed his word by the miraculous signs that accompanied it.
So, when we are in a certain place in the name of Jesus, the authority given us by the Head of the Church, led of Holy Spirit, and we speak the Words (not our own concoction) God gives us to speak there will be miraculous signs. As the Apostle Paul declared, I am not coming to you in word only but in the Power of God (paraphrase 1 Th 1:5). As we evaluate verses eleven, twenty-two, and twenty-three with each possessing only one part of the required parts we will find them defeated before the enemy with the Lord unable to operate through them. The following Scripture points out that none of these had made a meaningful connection to Jesus.
John 2:23 (PassionNTPsa)
23 While Jesus was at the Passover Feast, the number of his followers began to grow, and many gave their allegiance to him because of all the miraculous signs they had seen him doing! But Jesus did not yet entrust himself to them, because he knew how fickle human hearts can be. He didn’t need anyone to tell him about human nature, for he fully understood what man was capable of doing.
We must believe upon Jesus, the Word of God, and exercise that Word in the authority of the name of Jesus. There are lots of examples but for now let’s look at the following example.
Acts 3:6-7 (KJV)
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
We know that Peter is a believer, he declares the authority in which he is operating, the name of Jesus, and declares the desired result. A manifestation of glory was immediate. Watch his explanation of this marvelous miraculous event.
Acts 3:16 (KJV)
16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
This is how we all are to operate. We see a reference to faith in the name, and faith in the Word. Let’s review yet once again what Jesus commanded us to do. It was not to ask Him and the Father to do things but as believers to step out in faith in Him upon the Word of God and the name.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Romans 10:11 (KJV)
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
