CITIES SILENT AND EMPTY

Greetings dear and precious saints of God, my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, our big Brother! Welcome back to our illuminating and empowering study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. God is just so good dear ones, how can we but rejoice? Who we are and what we are in Christ Jesus just boggles the mind, at least at first, so much so that many believe and many teach a defeated gospel, another Jesus. That gospel is not in the Bible, neither in the Old or the New Covenant! In Christ Jesus we are far above all authority excepting that of God and the Power that is available to flow in and through us is the same Power that has created all things. That same power that raised Jesus from the dead, raised us with Him.
Ephesians 1:19-23 (KJV)
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Ephesians 2:6 (KJV)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Do you know of a better deal than this? Why are we just talking about it and not walking in it? Unbelief! There are no pity pots in the Kingdom of God, only victory parties. Let’s repent and get about the work of the Kingdom, in Jesus’ name.
The beautiful picture featured today was taken by our friend and man of God, Joe Getchell Jr very recently in Pittsfield, Maine. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you for the glory of God. Thank you for sharing. All who share are vital to the Kingdom. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud. Yes, out loud, you are not a special case exemption. Repent of rebelliousness and read out loud with ears to hear, understand, and to do.
Isaiah 27:7-11 (TLB)
7 Has God punished Israel as much as he has punished her enemies? No, for he has devastated her enemies,
8 while he has punished Israel but a little, exiling her far from her own land as though blown away in a storm from the east.
9 And why did God do it? It was to purge away her sins, to rid her of all her idol altars and her idols. They will never be worshiped again.
10 Her walled cities will be silent and empty, houses abandoned, streets grown up with grass, cows grazing through the city munching on twigs and branches.
11 My people are like the dead branches of a tree, broken off and used to burn beneath the pots. They are a foolish nation, a witless, stupid people, for they turn away from God. Therefore, he who made them will not have pity on them or show them his mercy.
Israel has been scattered many times since Joshua led them into the Promised Land. Not a single time was it the will of God. It is never the will of God when any part of the curse gets access to our lives. We know from prior chapters that the people that God allowed (not His will but an instrument He had to allow) to punish Israel became lifted up and went too far and stayed too long. In spite of Israel’s disobedience, they were and are still a Covenant people. We who have made Jesus Savior are a Covenant person with God. Just as we are torn and grieved when we see our natural children being torn as they fight against God so does our Heavenly Father. Just as Israel was scattered and many have seen their children scattered, Israel is being brought back and so are our children. A Promise of God.
Jeremiah 31:16-17 (KJV)
16 Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.
17 And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.
Rejoice for in the end Israel will return to the Lord and receive Jesus as Messiah and so will our children return and spend eternity with us in the Kingdom of Heaven (God). The silence and emptiness is only for a season.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
