Greetings dear saints of God and welcome back to this engaging and empowering study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. The Lord is so good to give an immense treasury of His thoughts, His commandments for a truly abundant victorious life now and over the top eternity. The featured picture today is of one of our donkeys pulling on the tail of one of our cattle. I thought this might bring a smile to your face. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text presented today from the NKJV. Please continue reading out loud.
Isaiah 66:15-18 (NKJV)
15 For behold, the LORD will come with fire And with His chariots, like a whirlwind, To render His anger with fury, And His rebuke with flames of fire.
16 For by fire and by His sword The LORD will judge all flesh; And the slain of the LORD shall be many.
17 “Those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves, To go to the gardens After an idol in the midst, Eating swine’s flesh and the abomination and the mouse, Shall be consumed together,” says the LORD.
18 “For I know their works and their thoughts. It shall be that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and see My glory.
The imagery is a little hard to follow but it seems that the text of this final chapter of Isaiah is moving between the Tribulation, Armageddon, the Millennial Reign, and the final destruction of all-natural mankind that encircles the Holy City at the end of the 1000-year reign of Christ and us reigning with Him. It seems like verses 15, 16, and 17 above are focused on Armageddon, the Second Coming of Christ. Then the eighteenth verse has moved into the 1000-year reign of Christ when the nations will come to Jerusalem to worship Christ.
Zechariah 14:16-17 (KJV)
16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
Now, let’s move ahead into verse nineteen.
Isaiah 66:19-21 (NKJV)
19 I will set a sign among them; and those among them who escape I will send to the nations: to Tarshish and Pul and Lud, who draw the bow, and Tubal and Javan, to the coastlands afar off who have not heard My fame nor seen My glory. And they shall declare My glory among the Gentiles.
20 Then they shall bring all your brethren for an offering to the LORD out of all nations, on horses and in chariots and in litters, on mules and on camels, to My holy mountain Jerusalem,” says the LORD, “as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.
21 And I will also take some of them for priests and Levites,” says the LORD.
During the Millennial Reign of Christ and us with Him there will be natural people in the earth who are unsaved. The sign set among them will be the eternal ones (you and me) who will preach the gospel. Oh yes, the Blood will still work for them as well as it did for us. O what a Savior! Next, we see an ingathering from all over the earth of the natural seed of Abraham, Jews, to Israel, to Jerusalem. The Lord goes on to say He will make some of them priests and Levites in His Temple.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
