AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH
Thursday – December 31, 2020, Tevet 16, 5781
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVE – BLOOD AND WATER
Greetings dear and precious saints of God as we are in the last day of 2020. Welcome back to this wonderful and powerful study of the Book of John. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible expanding the reach of this Ministry and the Truth. The featured picture today depicts fireworks to celebrate the coming of 2021. I don’t know about you but it seems that this year (2020) has raced by and here we are, a few hours from the start of 2021. Let’s each of us think back over 2020 and examine how we have spent the year. Did we spend the time (not retrievable) well? Have we redeemed the time, made the best use of the time, or have we engaged in complaining about apparent inconveniences brought by Corona Virus and engaged in other acts of defiance? Have you thought about the idea that this pestilence is of the curse, of the devil, and that God, the One in each of us Christians is way more powerful and smarter than the demons? Do you suppose our Heavenly Father can show us a way forward into extreme prosperity of every sort? Our Heavenly Father is not the source of Corona Virus but He is using it to separate the men from the boys for sure, and to get us out of our comfy boxes. Consider the following passages concerning Isaac.
Genesis 26:1-2 (KJV)
1 And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.
2 And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:
Genesis 26:12-14 (KJV)
12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.
13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:
14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.
Is this our testimony to the world, a shining example or are some Christians, Churches, rightly seen as a part of the problem? Now let’s turn to our primary Bible text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 19:30-37 (KJV)
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.
33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:
34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
I am writing this on the 30th of November. Perhaps as the end of the year comes closer the Lord will give me a prophetic insight to share for 2021 and beyond. Wondrous things may have already occurred but what is just ahead is well out of the box. Now, back to our primary Bible text. Jesus body is dead, His spirit/soul have departed, upon the Cross, broken for us. It is 3 pm, Passover lambs are being killed all over Jerusalem for the Passover Seder after 6 pm the beginning of Passover. However, they seem oblivious that The Passover Lamb of God has just paid the price of sin for all. The ruling religious folks want to get Jesus off the Cross and buried, as well as the two crucified with Him, before 6 pm. The soldiers would break the legs of those not dead to facilitate their death. At this point in the process the crucified were relying heavily on the legs to facilitate breathing. However, when they came to Jesus, He was already dead and Scripture was fulfilled.
Psalm 34:20 (KJV)
20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
One of the soldiers pierces the side of Jesus and blood and water pour forth. There are of course physical reasons that blood and water poured from Jesus side but let’s look at the whole picture.
The water is the Anointed Word that came into the world through the Eternal Spirit and became flesh. The blood is not only representative of His human birth by way of the Virgin Mary but the sinless Blood poured out for our eternal life.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next year.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
