HAVING AND KEEPING IS LOVING
Thursday – December 5, 2019, Kislev 7, 5780

Greetings my precious brothers and sisters in the Lord Jesus. Welcome back to this amazing Bible Study of the Book of John. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment and hit the “love” and “share” buttons to extend the reach of these teachings. Those saved rejoice and those not saved need to know that there is no other name under Heaven whereby one may be saved but the name of Jesus (Acts 4:12). Saved from what one might ask? Saved from all of the curse (poverty, disease) here in the earth and perishing (continuous destruction) not only here in this time but in the eternity to come. Each of us will always exist and be amazingly conscious. I want my consciousness to be of Heaven and the amazing life, the adventure, of eternity bought for all at the Cross. I have rejected agony of Hell forever; the devils only offer. Dear one if you are reading this and don’t know Jesus as Lord and Savior do so right now! Just tell the Lord, Jesus, that He is your Lord and that you believe He is the risen Messiah (Savior).
Romans 10:9-11 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Please let us know if you have prayed to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. A deal with the devil is nothing but misery for eternity, the deal with God is nothing but happiness for eternity. There are no other deals, that is it. The pictures this week are of various scenes. The picture today is a of beautiful sunset along the coast of Maine. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text from the Book of John reading it aloud.
John 14:21-23 (KJV)
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
It would behoove each one of us to ask ourselves if we have the commandments of God and then ask ourselves if we are keeping them. It is one thing to know the commandments of God and quite another to do them. It is also another thing to do them in faith motivated by love (agape) and not do them in a rote or empty fashion. Are we, each one of us, being led of the flesh or the Spirit? The answers to these may not determine Heaven or Hell but it will make all the difference in our life here and there (Heaven or Hell). Every bit of our lives here and in eternity is determined by the meditations of our hearts (mind – thoughts) and words we speak in faith. If we have faith in loss and poor health that is what we have but there is a better way, it is the way of having and keeping the commandments of God. Quit talking the problem and talk the solution as led by the Holy Spirit. In God it is never too late to change our circumstances here and now in the earth and in eternity. Love (agape) God, have and do His commandments. Do them in faith, in love, as led of the Holy Spirit. God is not asking us to do a hard thing. It is only hard when we want to follow the flesh and we rebel against the Spirit.
1 John 5:2-3 (KJV)
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. (Bold added by Dr. Wood)
Did you notice that the key to loving (agape) the children of God, our brothers and sisters in Christ, is loving (agape) God and keeping (doing) His commandments? If any of us are having trouble loving God’s other children, we must examine our love walk with God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). In order to obey, to keep and do the commandments we must study the Scriptures diligently and be in close day to day fellowship practicing the presence and voice of God. In the preceding passage, the word grievous means dangerous, severe, dire, heinous, dreadful, terrible, awful, shameful, or painful. Some days it sounds like that is what the Church at large is teaching. Jesus did not come and die to give us a terrible life here in this time. He came that we could enjoy and have an abundant life here and now and abundant life in the time (eternity) to come (Mark 10:28-30 + the whole Bible). Remember Adam and Eve? They had a command but they did not keep it, do it.
Genesis 2:17 (KJV)
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Just how did that all turn out? Do you think it is going to turn out better for you or me?
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
