IN THAT DAY

Greetings to the friends and partners of this Ministry who follow (diligently study) The Three Minute Word blog. Please take a moment to share this and all teachings if you are a friend and/or partner of Eastern Gate Ministries International, Inc. The featured picture of Manson Park in Pittsfield, Maine today is courtesy of Joe Getchell Jr, enjoy. The 4th of July is now (July 6th) in the rear view mirror. I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday weekend, thankful for the freedoms of this nation and even more thankful for our freedoms in Christ Jesus. Our forefathers declared their freedom (and ours) as a nation in 1776 from the tyranny of the British Empire. However, there was a far more important day in each of our lives when we became a Christian. The day we declared our freedom from the tyranny of Satan, and the kingdom of darkness, in Christ Jesus. I remember that day for me, what about you? Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 16:23-25 (KJV)
23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
As you will recall (you do recall, don’t you?) our text was spoken by the Word, Jesus is the Word become flesh, Jesus the man, in the earth in the waning hours of His Ministry. These words although they had great temporal importance to the gathered disciples, they are for us as well and are eternal. Jesus is telling them He is going to be going away but the anguish, the sorrow they will experience will be very temporary. This sorrow will be followed by great joy which no man can take from them. He assures them they are not being left alone, and He is assuring us that we are not alone, He is sending God the Holy Spirit with the permission of the Father. Synonymous names for God the Holy Spirit are the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, and the Spirit of Truth among others. He will not only be with them as He has in their walk with Jesus but He will be within them. They will find out later that not only is He to be within but all authority is being returned as well as the Blessing, the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
Our text starts off with the phrase “in that day”, what day is He talking about? It seems to me that He is talking about the day, and the days following, when He has left and the Holy Spirit is come. By the way, the word translated from the Greek as ‘day’ is feminine in gender and singular in number. Being singular means that this applies to each and every one of us not to a group. The fact that the word is feminine means that the day has potential to produce fruit, both good and bad. Remember these words of Jesus.
John 9:4 (KJV)
4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
Let us also remember, meditate, and do the following passage.
Hebrews 3:12-19 (KJV)
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
Dear ones, much of the Church has an evil unbelieving heart, have departed from the living God to other doctrines. It is a sad day for the Church in America where the world and the Church are in rebellion against the government which for the most part is trying to protect, we the citizens. Of course, the Church was in rebellion long before COVID-19 by following after the traditions of men and the doctrines of demons. The Church is in the wilderness. Jesus didn’t pay for us to have a wilderness experience but to experience the Promised Land in fulness. Now, back to the feminine gender of the word ‘day’ in verse twenty-three of our text. Let us repudiate the awful fruit of rebellion and set the example for all to follow in the natural and in the spiritual. We can’t expect people to flood our Churches in the current condition which is without power and full of rebellion. We must show the world a better way. So long as the Church is violating God’s Word in rebellion against lawful authority, we will see nothing but stagnation and the curse.
Let us repent and produce the good fruits of righteousness. Germane (relevant) to our study lets each of us determine to only produce good fruit by righteous thoughts, words, and actions with the help of the Holy Spirit. There is nothing bad, no curse in the Holy Spirit, in God, period. If any of us have any part of the curse in our lives it is not of God, it is allowed by God due to our actions (the devil got a judgment against us). We have authority in the earth and we alone decide whether we walk in the Blessing or the curse. This requires diligence (study), purposeful actions on our part (implementation of the Word), and it requires that we truly love (agape) God (obey) and not just say we love God. Brothers and sisters, we are “in that day” to which Jesus referred. Let us, those called by His name, repent, embrace the pure Word of God and see God heal our land.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
