ISRAEL – FEAST OF TRUMPETS
Wednesday – September 20, 2017

Today at sunset or 6 pm by convention is the advent of the Feast of Trumpets otherwise known in the Hebrew transliterated to English as Rosh HaShana. For the Hebrew (Jew) this is the head (Rosh) of the (Ha) new year(Shana). This is not the calendar new year but the civil new year. The start of God’s plan, His calendar is in the spring. God had and has a plan from before the foundation of the world however that plan was corrupted with the day of sin found in Genesis 3:6. A redemptive plan sprang into place that ends with the return of perfection but better than the Garden of Eden since there will be no Satan (Serpent) to contend with in all that follows Revelation chapter twenty (twenty is the number of redemption). Now let us bring our focus back to the Feast of the Lord which is at hand and like all the Feasts of the Lord is of vital importance to all peoples, especially the Church.
Leviticus 23:23-25 (KJV)
23 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.
25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
This Feast of the Lord is also described as to how it is to be commemorated in the Book of Numbers. The English word “Feast” is the transliterated Hebrew word môʿēd according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. A môʿēd is a specific time appointed of the Lord for the congregation to gather before Him for a specific purpose.
Numbers 29:1-6 (KJV)
1 And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.
2 And ye shall offer a burnt offering for a sweet savour unto the LORD; one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year without blemish:
3 And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals for a bullock, and two tenth deals for a ram,
4 And one tenth deal for one lamb, throughout the seven lambs:
5 And one kid of the goats for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you:
6 Beside the burnt offering of the month, and his meat offering, and the daily burnt offering, and his meat offering, and their drink offerings, according unto their manner, for a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD.
I am not going to dissect this preceding passage however notice the blowing trumpets (shofars), notice the number seven (spiritual completion), the various offerings including the One without blemish. This is a time of spiritual completion involving the One without blemish and it is announced and has its onset with the blowing of trumpets (shofars). This feast is prophetic of a resetting of God’s perfect government (Old Testament saints and the Church). This feast is prophet most importantly for us, the Church, for the “Catching away” or what is commonly referred to as the Rapture of the Church. The following passages of Scripture are the wonderful fulfillment of the Prophetic Word of God in this case called a Feast of the Lord, the Feast of Trumpets, codified some thirty-five hundred years ago. Listen for the Trump of God.
1 Corinthians 15:51-54 (KJV)
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. (Bold added)
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 (KJV)
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (Bold added)
As we listen for the Trump (Trumpet) of God let us not lose sight of our mission, our God given assignments in the earth. Let us not be so Heavenly minded that we are no earthly good. We have an extremely important assignments from our Heavenly Father in this earth which have everything to do with the future of others and our eternal place in the Kingdom of God.
