SORROW TURNED INTO JOY

Greetings dear and precious friends and partners of this Ministry and welcome back to The Three Minute Word blog. Please take a moment to share this teaching to substantially expand the reach of this ministry. The featured picture today is of a wonderful sunset in Texas. The entire body of Christ is comprised of every Christian on the earth and each has a specific role chosen of God (not the Pastor) in that body.
1 Corinthians 12:18 (KJV)
18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
The Pastor and others in the local body of believers play an important role in recognizing the unique talents and gifts possessed by every person and facilitating their development and use. Unfortunately, many times this does not happen and thus there are many frustrated and disenfranchised persons in the Church. People are placed or pressured into positions or places that are not their calling. Pastors please do not frustrate and therefore scatter those God sends into the flock you oversee.
Jeremiah 23:1 (KJV)
1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.
Please understand ‘woe’ is never good. The antonym (opposite) of ‘woe’ is happiness and joy. Synonyms (same as or similar to) of ‘woe’ are anguish, grief, distress, sadness, misery, affliction, calamity, and other. Along these lines it is imperative that each person in every Church function in their calling (natural talents and supernatural gifts). The Apostle Paul looks at the local Church and the whole Church as a body. In our human bodies each part, indeed each cell, has a unique and necessary function.
1 Corinthians 12:15-16 (KJV)
15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
Now, let’s turn our attention back to our Bible Study of the Book of John. Let’s start by reading our primary Bible text out loud. Do you think that reading these Scriptures even the whole teaching out loud part as being unnecessary? How does faith come?
Romans 10:17 (KJV)
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Bold added)
Can we please our Heavenly Father without faith?
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Bold added)
Now, let’s read our primary Bible text out loud.
John 16:19-22 (KJV)
19 Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
Jesus tells these disciples they will weep for a brief time but their sorrow will be turned to joy. These disciples do not fully understand what is about to happen but they will after the Resurrection and the coming of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost (Feast of Pentecost) some fifty days later. Their brief sorrow will be replaced with great joy. As we will come to see, joy is associated with great victory, and certainly the Cross and the Resurrection is a time of great victory. We need to cut these disciples some slack keeping in mind none were saved or filled with the Spirit of God until after the Resurrection and the coming of the Holy Spirit respectively. Having said this, as a little bit of an aside, I do think a valid argument (Scriptural) can be made that people before the Cross and Resurrection by faith reached into a later time (dispensation) and brought salvation into their time. Their spirit man was dead and to a great degree the gospel was foolishness to them.
1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV)
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
However, once they were born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, they turned the world upside down. Are we turning the world upside down? Back to the idea of joy. Joy is one of the fruit of our spirit. All persons can have a level of natural joy, but our joy can operate on a supernatural level. Joy is to have a calm delight which comes from the knowledge of being well off. Well off is more than financial, it is the firm knowledge of being one in all things with Christ. Lord willing, more on this tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
