THOUGHTS AND WORDS ARE SEALING YOUR DESTINY AND WRITING YOUR STORY

Greetings and welcome to Awake, Arise, and Triumph Ministries and a special teaching titled “Mechanisms of Death”. In the past I have been encouraged to include more of my medical knowledge and experience with these spiritual teachings. I am a mostly retired Internal Medicine Physician but have two state medical licenses and keep current with my Continuing Medical Education. As you read the gospels Jesus used natural things all the time to illuminate spiritual Truths.
Let’s start. First of all, God never intended for man to die. The first man broke God’s Law and the wages of sin is death. Death entered not only mankind but all of creation. People continued to have a very long lifespan compared with today for several hundred years after the fall. But over time they were dying as today then it got even worse. In the year 1200 the average life span was 30-40 years of age. Now mainly due to medical science, sadly not faith in God, people have a life span or life expectancy of 77-78 years. This is far short of the 120 years spoken of in Genesis 6:3 and science has ascertained as the outer edge of life span. Many factors contribute to death at under 120 years but the major determinate at 120 years is genetic degradation losing the ability for cell repair and/or replication. So why did God impose the 120-year limit on fallen man?

3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
Why?
Genesis 6:5 (KJV)
5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Notice all starts with thoughts which are our imaginations, these become words and actions whether good or bad, in this case of Genesis 6:5 bad or evil. Now we come to the cornerstone of a healthy or unhealthy life, short or long life. There tends to be an emphasis on the words of our mouth that is right, but we must not lose sight of the thoughts, imaginations, that perhaps we never spoke. These thoughts, good or bad, have a deciding effect upon our physical bodies according to the science of epigenetics. Good and Godly thoughts will cause the brain to release proteins that block whatever genetic inheritance we have for particular diseases. Conversely thoughts contrary to God’s Word, contrary to good health and long life will result in the unmasking of these genetic predispositions.
Now, let’s move to the words of our mouth. Word have great power in every area of our lives including the health of our body and hence the longevity of our bodies.
Proverbs 18:21 (KJV)
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
I hope we can agree that a long, satisfying, and healthy life is good. Can we also agree that death alone is evil but in this fallen world perhaps we can agree that early death and disease of all sorts are evil. Listen to Jesus.
Luke 6:45 (KJV)
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
When we see evil things in the life of a person, we don’t need to look any further than their heart for out it their mouth speaks. Before moving on let me point out what comes in through our eye gates (what we look at) and what we think are vital as well.
Matthew 6:22-23 (KJV)
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
Light is the revealed Word of God we receive, believe and implement in our lives.
TAKE HOME:
- God set limits on the physical lifespan of people due to the wickedness of their hearts. Can a born-again Spirit filled Christian modify those limits or is the call the path God has prepared only that long?
- The life of our physical bodies are finite but not fixed by outside forces. Death and life are in our tongue. There is a myth in the Church that God has set the day of our death. God to knowing the day of our death is different from God setting the day of our death.
- Our thoughts and our words set the course of our lives, the health of our bodies, the length of our lives, and the circumstances of our lives.
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow talking about the human structure, confounders, the silver cord, and death. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
