MINE ARE THINE

Greetings to our dear and precious friends and Partners and welcome back to this insightful (revelation from God) Bible Study of the Book of John. The week is running by fast, hump day already! Are we running with God? Are we redeeming (making the best use of) our time? Before you go any further please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible to extend the reach, the influence, of this Ministry but more importantly the reach of the Truth. It is the Truth after all that makes us free. Free from what? The curse! The featured picture today is courtesy of our friend Joe Getchell Jr. Thank you, Joe, you have a good eye. Like Monday and Tuesday, before we dive into our primary Bible text for today let’s consider a couple of questions. Will God ever lead us to violate the laws of the land that do not violate His laws (Scripture)? Is violating the laws of the land sin? How much sin, or under what circumstances is sin okay with God? Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 17:9-12 (KJV)
9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
Let me say as I often do, our God is so, so good. He is nothing but good. Whatever is in any of our lives and isn’t good is not of God. It is of the enemy, it is the curse, find the root and ban it from your life in the name of Jesus. Now to our text. Jesus is in the last few hours of His earthly ministry and has been talking at great lengths with the disciples but now in this seventeenth chapter is talking with His Father before surrendering to the Cross. This discourse is precious, we see the heart of Jesus and the Father. Even before the Cross Jesus was interceding for those who had received Him by faith (reaching before time into this dispensation of Grace) and those who would after the Cross (you and me). Jesus is not praying for those who have rejected Him nor for those who have yet to hear. This is our job. As we study the text, we see that Jesus considers those who believe just as much the Father’s as His. As we study the full counsel of Scripture, we see that the Father has given Jesus, the Head of the Church, the responsibility for the body. However, the day is coming when Jesus will give the Father the family, He so desires.
1 Corinthians 15:22-25 (KJV)
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. (Bold added)
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
Let’s now put our focus on verse ten of our primary text.
John 17:10 (ESV)
10 All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them.
Does this sound like a participation in common otherwise known as being joint-heirs? Sure, does to me. Jesus never fails to give recognition to the Father and neither should we all the while being fully cognizant and thankful to our Savior. Notice the last phrase in this text, “I am glorified in them”. Another way of putting this would be to say, “my goodness is shown forth in them”. Can we say that His goodness is being shown to others through us? Remember the glory, the goodness of God draws people to repentance.
Romans 2:4 (KJV)
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? (Bold added)
The way we show forth His goodness in fulness is to receive His Word, believe His Word, and do His Word by faith, in love, led of the Holy Spirit. In this way we do the works Jesus did and the greater works. Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
