MY WORD HAS NO PLACE IN YOU
Wednesday – April 3, 2019, Adar B 27, 5779
Good morning dear and precious brothers and sisters and welcome back to this powerful and life changing Bible Study of the Book of John. The featured picture is of an old blacksmith’s shop in Readfield, Maine. A man by the name of Frank Wyman ran this shop and shoed my grandfather’s horses. My grandfather was a woodsman and so he would take these huge work horses in from time to time to have the hoofs trimmed and new shoes applied. The blacksmith would look at me and tell me he was going to butter me and swallow me whole. I would run behind my grandfather and my grandfather would tell Frank to “leave the boy alone”. Now let’s get to our study of this wonderful Book, first reading the primary text aloud.
John 8:36-39 (KJV)
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
37 I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
Jesus is having a spiritual conversation with these Jews and us and they are having a carnal conversation. Jesus is saying I am the Son which is going to give you freedom like has not been experienced since the Garden of Eden. I remember an instance many years ago at my medical office when one of the employees was really burdened for, I think, a brother. She talked with Patti and I about this and we told her that prayer, God was the answer. Her next question was; “but what can I really do?” She did not understand and I’m not sure the Church understands that all victory starts with the spirit realm. By our thoughts, our words, and our actions we can bring victory or loss into our lives, as Scripture says death or life. Of course, once we have talked with God, seen the Scripture, spoken the Words God has given us then there may be a corresponding action required. Many times, the corresponding action is to shut our mouths, stand back, and let God do what God can do best. The point I am making is that the outcome of all things starts and ends in the spirit realm with a physical manifestation part in the middle. All things, is ALL THINGS! Nothing is excluded.
These Jews have just told Jesus that they are Abraham’s seed and were never in bandage to any man. Over the centuries the Jews were in bondage to other men many times that is what the Books of Judges, I and II Kings, and so on is all about as well as the Prophets major and minor. However, it seems that they never realized or considered themselves to be in spiritual bondage when in reality they could not be in a worse spiritual bondage. The worst spiritual bondage is when a person considers themselves spiritually enlightened and are walking in dense spiritual darkness and the ways of devils. In verse thirty-seven (number for Word of God) Jesus acknowledges to them that they are the natural descendants of Abraham, yet they seek to kill Him of whom even Abraham spoke, and the reason being that His Word is not in them. In other words, most importantly they are not spiritual descendants of Abraham. These people consider themselves full of the Word of God yet Jesus tells them plainly they don’t know diddly squat about Him, His Word is not in them. Just think about this from Genesis 1:1 to that day and now to this day, every Word of Scripture, every Word to us individually, every Prophet that speaks is speaking the Words of Jesus by the Anointing of the Holy Spirit. Yet Jesus says to these religious leaders, rulers probably a better term, that they have not given His Word a place in them. Just think how awful it would be for any of us to hear those words from Jesus.
Remember there are the natural seed of Abraham and the spiritual seed of Abraham. The natural seed are the Jewish of Hebrew peoples. The spiritual seed of Abraham are those who came by faith through the Seed of Abraham into a family relationship with God. Of course, those who are by nature Jews can be of the Seed (Christ Jesus) of Abraham spiritual seed as well. As I end for today meditate the following Scriptures and how great is the mercy of our God.
Galatians 3:13-14 (KJV)
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Galatians 3:28-29 (KJV)
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
It was the faith of Abraham that resulted in Isaac, the child of promise resulting in the ultimate child of promise, Christ Jesus.
Romans 4:16 (KJV)
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
Before the Sacrifice of Calvary there were two groups of people in the earth the Jew and the Gentile. Now both of those groups who choose Jesus as Lord enter the third and all-important group which is the Kingdom of God, the Church.
1 Corinthians 10:32 (KJV)
32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
