NEITHER DO I CONDEMN YOU
Monday – March 11, 2019, Adar B 4, 5779

Greetings dear partners and friends of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word publication. Be reminded if you get this on Facebook or Twitter you can also get it in your email inbox daily. If you are getting it on Facebook please take a moment and “like” and “share” to multiply the reach of these Bible teachings. And, keep reading! As you know I am currently teaching the Book of John, as the Lord opens it to me, I open it to you, and you to others. Our God is so very good. We have been reviewing and studying the account of the woman caught in adultery. As we discussed the scribes and pharisees, the religious rulers of the day, were constantly looking to find Jesus in violation of Scripture and desperately wanted to kill Him. Nothing has changed today! When one hears criticism, usually flat out lies, of Christian people or leaders, the origin is generally from among the scribes and pharisees of the Church and not the world. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible Text reading it aloud.
John 8:10-14 (KJV)
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
Our prior text told us that this woman was caught in the very act. Yet, she is the only one brought before Jesus. Do you suppose one can be caught in the act of adultery by oneself? She wasn’t thinking about adultery and someone read her mind, no, she was caught in the very act. So, where is her partner? These religious people brought the woman and let the man go and thereby becoming a party to his evil deed, the act of adultery.
Leviticus 20:10 (KJV)
10 And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. (Bold added by Dr. Wood)
2 John 1:11 (KJV)
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
When Jesus tells them that whoever among them is without sin should cast the first stone, they all faded away for they were all guilty of adultery for which the penalty was death (by stoning). The accusers have now all left and it is just Jesus, the woman, and I suppose onlookers. So, we are left with no accusers, no witnesses, and no adulterer. In order to impose the sentence of death as was required by the law there were to be two or three witnesses. As we progress into the eleventh verse, we hear Jesus telling her that He does not condemn her and that she is to go and sin no more. Jesus was not a witness to the adultery and there are no witnesses or accusers left present. That is not the same as no sin occurring but as we see it is an opportunity for mercy and a change in her life. What started that day as a private thing now is public knowledge so it is not like she got off without penalty. A great injustice has occurred for the man was not paraded publicly as was the woman, however, he is known among the religious ruling class. He will now be very easy prey for the religious ruling class to manipulate, sin upon sin. By way of review I want to make sure we all understand who the condemner is. It is not God and it is not the devil.
John 3:17-19 (KJV)
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
On one side of a man (or woman) we have the devils (darkness) and on the other side we have God (light). The man or woman choose light or darkness not the devil and not God. We ourselves condemn ourselves as freewill creations to the kingdom of darkness and Hell or redemption into the Kingdom of light and to Heaven. What have you chosen?
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
