NO SIN OR DOES SIN REMAIN?
Thursday – May 16, 2019, Iyar 11, 5779

Greetings dear partners, and friends of Eastern Gate Ministries International and The Three Minute Word publication. Today I will be continuing this powerful and insightful Bible Study of the Book of John. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment and hit the “like” and “share” buttons to expand the reach of this ministry. There is no substitute for the Word of God and insight into the Word of God. The Word of God is the only reliable, unchanging, unshakeable foundation for our lives. Now, let us turn our attention to our primary Bible text reading it aloud.
John 9:38-41 (KJV)
38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?
41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
Today, let us pick up again with verse thirty-nine. Jesus tells them and us that He came into the world so the blind could see and those who see would be made blind. The rejection of the Truth, the true light always leads to blindness. It is imperative (absolutely essential – the difference of victory and defeat) that we all be good Bereans. A Berean proves the Word of God by the Word of God.
Acts 17:10-11 (KJV)
10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Remember, when God was freeing the Israelites from the slavery of Egypt that Pharaohs heart did not start out hard. His heart became hard with the rejection of light, the Word of the Lord. Pharaoh’s heart became increasingly hard to the point of outright rebellion requiring judgment. God had a Covenant with the Israelites who were in Blood Covenant with Him, observed Passover, but not the Egyptians for they were enslaving God’s people just as the governments of the world are doing today. We must examine ourselves and see where our treasure is located and whether we are embracing light or darkness. Embracing the light will bring the abundance of God into our lives, embracing darkness brings the abundance of the curse into our lives. So, let us each examine our own lives and see where we may stand. Are we building faith in light or faith in darkness? Never, ever forget that the primary source of darkness is the Church. Is there abundance of all good things in our lives or an abundance of destruction?
John 10:10 (KJV)
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Is the thief operating freely in our lives or is Jesus operating freely in our lives? Do we have faith in the thief or the Savior? When we have seen the light but chose the darkness the light we once had will be lost. That is not what I say, it is what our Lord and Savior is saying in our text. Of course, the Pharisees who are dissecting every Word that comes from Jesus’ mouth now chime in. We must guard against dissecting every word that comes from another’s mouth with the motive of criticism. On the other hand, we are to judge all things determining if it is something we want and should receive or not. The Pharisees want to know if Jesus thinks they are blind. We already know, they are blind as bats. Jesus has a very interesting and a very thought-provoking answer.
John 9:41 (KJV)
41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
The take away message here appears to be that if we are unaware of our sin (legitimately blind) there is no sin or consequences of that sin, a place of mercy and grace. On the other hand, sin in the presence of light, knowledge is altogether different requiring consequences. Sin is an open door in fact an invitation for the devil to bring stealing, killing, and destroying into our lives. Remember, that just because we have light in one area does not mean we have light in another area. We must be gentle, kind, forbearing, and tender with our fellow Christians, really with all persons, speaking always in love.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
