BLIND OR NOT
Wednesday – May 15, 2019, Iyar 10, 5779

Greetings dear partners, and friends of Eastern Gate Ministries International and The Three Minute Word publication. Today I will be continuing this powerful and insightful Bible Study of the Book of John. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment and hit the “like” and “share” buttons to expand the reach of this ministry. There is no substitute for the Word of God and insight into the Word of God. The Word of God is the only reliable, unchanging, unshakeable foundation for our lives. Now, let us turn our attention to our primary Bible text reading it aloud.
John 9:38-41 (KJV)
38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?
41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
When we left off yesterday, we were talking about choices and how we either choose light or darkness and that choice revolves about what or who we love, treasure. The checkbook, the evidence of the Word of God in our lives reveals if God is our primary treasure or is it something else like money. In the Kingdom of God prosperity emanates from a generous heart in both thought and deed. Isaiah 9:2 speaks of a great light which we have come to understand is Jesus, the Messiah, the Word of God. We see it again in the following Scripture and it is associated with repentance, first light, then repentance.
Matthew 4:14-17 (KJV)
14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
This is a major reason we are not to judge people, that is to say the consequences of people’s thoughts, words, or actions. We have no idea really how much light or darkness another walks in. Key word in what I just said is “consequences”. We are to judge all things (matters) but not people other than ourselves. Light allows judgment and judgment requires a decision on our part. That decision will be affirming that we are in the light or that we have darkness requiring repentance and a change of direction. Before I move back to our primary text, I believe it desirable to comment on verse seventeen (17 is the number of victory) in the secondary text above. Jesus is telling them that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. The “at hand” phrase means it is near or approaching, so, we can conclude it to not yet be present at the time He spoke the words. As you may know the Kingdom of God or Heaven is in the Holy Spirit so full participation in the Kingdom of God requires the presence of the Holy Spirit within us.
Luke 17:20-21 (KJV)
20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
The Apostle Paul adds some clarity by the unction of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 14:17 (KJV)
17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
The things, righteousness, peace, and joy are not nebulous words lacking substance in the spiritual or physical realities but wonderfully real, tangible, in all realms. Righteousness, peace, and joy are expansive topics which I will not embark upon today. So, let us conclude that the Kingdom of God could only be available to all persons when the Holy Spirit came back into the earth and this like all others things is manifest by the words of our mouths. One final point, the Bible book of Matthew refers to the Kingdom of God as the Kingdom of Heaven and is the only Book in the Bible to do so, all the others use the term Kingdom of God. They are equivalent terms.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
