PEACE MUST BE IMPORTANT

Greetings precious children of God and welcome to The Three Minute Word blog. We are a blessed people if we will focus on Him. The Holy Bible is Gods’ Policy and Procedure Manuel for now and eternity. He has hidden nothing from us.
Romans 12:2 (KJV)
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The word ‘prove’ in the preceding verse has to do with approving, discerning, examining, and allowing. The ball is entirely in our court we decide how much to know and what we will do with what we know. What have you decided, what have I decided? The Word of God is foolishness to the world, unsaved, but is Truth and Light to the saved. Those who are born again (saved) have a quickened spirit man and can hear from God. The Holy Spirit is the Master Teacher, are we taking advantage of that? It is not automatic; we must study the Word of God and spend time with the Lord every day. Spending time with the Lord means that every day we have a private time (prayer closet) with the Lord. I also highly recommend that we all make a habit of talking with Him throughout the day concerning all of the events of our day. Preferably before each event not just after. Also, be sure to have a heart and mouth filled with thanksgiving even when you don’t feel like it. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 20:26-29 (KJV)
26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
I left off yesterday talking about the eight-day gap between Jesus’ appearances to the disciples. I talked about the fact that the number eight is commonly believed to represent a new beginning. Certainly, with the death and resurrection of the Messiah a new beginning was made possible for all who will believe in Him. Those who believe on Christ Jesus become members of His body, the Anointed body of Christ, otherwise known as the Church (the ekklēsia, according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary). As I understand it the ekklēsia is a part of the ancient government of Greece. The ekklēsia were those called out from the people of Greece who enacted the will of the highest authority. Does this sound at all familiar? We, the Church, the ekklēsia, get our instructions from a higher authority, Christ Jesus. He is our Lord; He is the King of kings (the kings are us). It was the responsibility of the ekklēsia in ancient Greece to carry out the will of the highest authority. We have also been tasked with the responsibility to carry out the will of our Lord in the earth. Each of us choose to be obedient, servants by choice, or remain ignorant, or just plain rebellious. What have you chosen, what have I chosen?
Now, back to the closed room, and the disciples including Thomas also known as Didymus. Again, upon entering the first thing Jesus says is; “Peace be unto you”. Peace must be important. Let’s go back a little in time. Remember when Jesus sent out the twelve and the seventy? Let’s take a look at a portion of what His instructions were to them.
Matthew 10:12-15 (KJV)
12 And when ye come into an house, salute it.
13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
