Praise the Lord for another hump day to push forward in the will of God building the Kingdom of God. We must push the will of God forward until our assignments are finished and we are satisfied.
Psalm 91:14-16 (KJV)
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
January 31, 1997 in the middle of the night I hung between earth and Heaven in the middle of a heart attack with cardiogenic shock (very low blood pressure due to the heart) and I knew from what was going on around me that at any moment I could be in the visible tangible presence of my Savior. With the help of God my cardiologist opened the closing blood vessel and here I am today. When I awakened in the Cardiac Intensive Care unit the words of the preceding Scripture were loud in my mind, I firmly believe spoken by the Holy Spirit unmistakably to me and for me. My assignment was far from finished and I was far from satisfied. Here we are almost twenty years later and I do not believe my assignment from the Lord is near done and I am not satisfied. I do not believe one can be satisfied until that job is completed. I think all of us have experienced the satisfaction of having finished a job in the natural realm, it is no different in the spiritual.
Colossians 3:15-17 (KJV)
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
We all need to allow ourselves to be reminded of the wonderful nature of the preceding passage. We must choose to let or allow the peace of God rule or adjudicate the matters of our life. We must weigh all things in a Scriptural balance when they come to us in our thinking or by written, spoken, or visual means. When it is not of God, one way or the other it is designed to lead to stealing, killing, and destroying in our lives. Let’s go ahead and review briefly the meaning in Scripture of peace for it is not an emotional warm fuzzy feeling although that may (but it may not) accompany the peace of God. The peace of God is God’s peace however we can develop our peace (Galatians 5:22) a fruit of our spirit, to be identical to His for we have it in our spiritual DNA. This peace passed into mankind when God breathed into Adam and he became a living being. The fruit of peace is developed by knowledge.
2 Peter 1:2 (KJV)
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
When we heard about Jesus, salvation, and the Kingdom of God we received this knowledge and acted upon it. We were quickened by the Holy Spirit instantly becoming a child of God and a part of the Kingdom of God. We had to believe the Word we heard (faith) and we had to act upon it (obedience – love), with our focus on the hope (salvation) found in Christ Jesus.
Bible peace is the knowledge that we are joined to the Godhead (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), the knowledge that prosperity in every realm of life (physical and spiritual) is ours. We are one with God. We have the quietness that comes with knowing that we are one with God. The curse, the enemy, can only affect us to the extent he can effect God. All of God’s provision (rest) which is immense is ours, we are joint-heirs with Christ Jesus. And we have been made to be one with Him again.
As incredible as it may seem we occupy the same place as God with regard to protection and provision. We have authority and He has power which flows on behalf of the Kingdom of God according to His will as led of the Holy Spirit. When I say we have authority understand that the power of God does not flow independent of a person in the earth authorizing the flow of that power. So as I end for today, let’s think about the idea, the command from God to “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts”. When we have the knowledge of the peace of God and that we have the very same peace, the very same position as our Father. We develop this peace with His guidance as we mature from being children of God to being sons of God. The knowledge, the reality, which rules our heart or mind at our choosing causes us to be steady and undistracted by circumstance.
