PUNISH LEVIATHAN
Greetings wonderful and precious people of God and welcome back to this continuing teaching from the Bible Book of Isaiah. Before I move into the teaching, please take a moment and share as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. You are a vital part of this Ministry and in the dissemination of the Word of God, the knowledge of the Kingdom of God. Before we move into Isaiah chapter twenty-seven, I want to deal with a common but false saying among Christians. “We ask God to change our situation, not knowing He put us in the situation to change us”. Really? Is this how God operates? Just where are the Scriptures establishing this as a Truth? Our Heavenly Father does not use adverse or circumstances of any type to change us or to teach us. We are changed and taught by the Word of God, period. Our use of the Word of God, His Word in our mouth changes any circumstances that present or that we are deceived to enter. Meditate, not speed read, the following passages.
Romans 12:2 (KJV)
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
How are we transformed? By the Word of God!
2 Corinthians 12:7-9 (KJV)
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Where did this thorn in the flesh come from? Satan! Paul begged God to remove it and God told Paul to remove it. That is Paul would speak the Word of God (say unto the mountain, Mark 11:23) and the Holy Spirit (Grace) would remove this thorn in the flesh. This is what the good fight of faith (1 Tim 6:12) is all about and the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6). Come on Church study, rightly divide the Word of Truth (2 Timothy 2:15), and grow up into Him (Ephesians 4:14-15)! Now let’s turn our attention to Isaiah.
Isaiah 27:1-6 (TLB)
1 In that day the Lord will take his terrible, swift sword and punish leviathan, the swiftly moving serpent, the coiling, writhing serpent, the dragon of the sea.
2 In that day [of Israel’s freedom] let this anthem be their song:
3 “Israel is my vineyard; I, the Lord, will tend the fruitful vines; every day I’ll water them, and day and night I’ll watch to keep all enemies away.
4-5 My anger against Israel is gone. If I find thorns and briars bothering her, I will burn them up, unless these enemies of mine surrender and beg for peace and my protection.”
6 The time will come when Israel will take root and bud and blossom and fill the whole earth with her fruit!
Yesterday I spent the whole teaching on discussing and to some extent speculating on the phrase “In that day”. What is “his terrible, swift sword”? God does everything with Words. Remember in the armor of God the “sword of the Spirit” is the Word of God.
Ephesians 6:17 (KJV)
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
The leviathan is Satan, the devil, that old Serpent who is for a little season in the world (sea). When he is punished then Israel the first Covenant nation of God will spring into full bloom like no nation before.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
