SON OF PERDITION

Greetings to all of our dear friends and partners who follow and support this blog. We are thankful for each and every one of you. Today I will be picking up with our study of the Book of John. Please, take a moment right now to share this teaching as widely as possible to expand the influence of this Ministry but more importantly expand the reach of the Truth. The featured picture today is by Joe Getchell Jr, isn’t that such a beautiful scene.
The November 3rd elections will soon be upon us here in the United States. God holds each of us responsible to vote and then how we vote. This is not just a citizenship responsibility, obligation, but a spiritual stewardship responsibility before God. The United States is a part of our garden.
Genesis 2:15 (AMP)
15 And the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and guard and keep it.
Many Christians are praying for our nation with many concerns including COVID-19, the violence, abortion, sexual perversions, and many other wicked manifestations of evil. Some are praying for healing. Some are praying for a great awakening. I think we can all agree that we want our land healed. Is our land healed? Why not? Perhaps we can all agree that we want a great awakening. Are we in a great awakening? Why not?
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Who is God waiting on to repent, the devil’s crowd or His crowd? What is the hold up? Perhaps the Church at large is willingly ignorant. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 17:11-16 (KJV)
11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
As we return to our study text today, we find Jesus speaking to the Father about the “son of perdition”. We have come to know this “son of perdition” as being Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve original disciples. Judas was one of the twelve but his lust, love for money separated him from Jesus.
1 Timothy 6:10 (KJV)
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
He chooses to be a son of the destroyer and not the healer, builder, creator (Jesus). The word ‘perdition’ in the Greek means ruin or loss (physical, spiritual or eternal), damnable (-nation), destruction, die, perdition, perish, pernicious ways, and/or waste according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. These are all of the curse, all of these are of the thief, the one who destroys. Judas was not predestined, chosen of God to betray Jesus and be lost but he chose to betray Jesus even when given an opportunity to repent.
Matthew 26:23-25 (KJV)
23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.
24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.
See this twenty-fifth verse in a different translation of the Bible.
Matthew 26:25 (ESV)
25 Judas, who would betray him, answered, “Is it I, Rabbi?” He said to him, “You have said so.”
Satan can only enter into persons who have surrendered to him just as the Holy Spirit can only enter those who have surrendered to Him (at salvation naming Jesus as Lord). These are conscious choices.
Luke 22:3 (KJV)
3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
Next Judas stays and observes the first Communion. What an abomination.
Luke 22:14-15 (KJV)
14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
Matthew 27:3-5 (KJV)
3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.
Judas did not repent before God, never had the devil cast out and seemingly went into Hell. Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
