STOOD IN THE MIDST

Greetings dear and precious friends and partners of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word blog. Welcome back to this wonderful study of the Bible Book of John. This would be a good time for you to go ahead and share this teaching as widely as possible to expand our reach of the Truth. This year is rushing by and for us in Maine Spring seems to be almost in our grasp, but we have another full month before we should get really excited. It has been quite the ride since the 3rd of November 2020, much has happened and much remains. Let us not turn loose of our faith, the Witness in our heart, nor should we stop believing the Prophets. The featured picture today is to depict (portray) Jesus appearance to His disciples later the same day, Resurrection Day, after His appearance to Mary Magdalene. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 20:17-19 (KJV)
17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.
19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
Jesus has just emerged from the tomb in full Resurrection Glory and first appears to and speaks with Mary Magdalene. I have discussed verse seventeen in quite a bit of detail although I suspect much more remains unmined. I will move into the eighteenth verse and those verses following. As you will see in the next verse the disciples are hiding for fear of the Jews. Yet, remember, these are the same men that in just a couple of months will turn the world upside down (Acts 17:6). As the Church stands today, are we in any danger of turning the world upside down? It may not look like it but there is a Rising Remnant and God working through them will set the stage and be a part of the largest awaking and influx of souls to the Kingdom ever. God has made it clear to me over many years and it is clear in the Scripture, He will have a people. The question is this; will you, will I, be one of those people. He is not talking about being saved, but being one who turns the world upside down. The Lord Jesus is not coming back for this beaten down Church we see today but a glorious Church without spot or wrinkle.
Ephesians 5:26-27 (KJV)
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
This Church, the end-time Church, will be washed with the pure Word of God, be holy, preaching what Jesus preached, with sign and wonders following. This is just ahead and is already rising into view. Mary Magdalene left her encounter with Jesus and went to the place where the disciples were hiding. She shared with them all that she had seen and heard. This is their reaction.
Mark 16:9-11 (KJV)
9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.
10 And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.
11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.
“They…believed not”. Keep in mind that Jesus had taught them on more than one occasion that He was to die and He would rise again. They have witnessed the crucifixion and now have a report of the Resurrection yet they believe not. That is about to change. Notice as we move into verse nineteen the phrase: “Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week” tells us it is late in the day but prior to 6 pm which would be the start of the second day of the week. The new day on the Hebrew clock does not start at midnight as on our clock or calendar but at 6 pm. Suddenly, Jesus stood in the midst of them and said “Peace be unto you”.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
