JESUS CAME AND STOOD

Greetings dear and precious friends and partners of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word blog. Welcome back to this wonderful study of the Bible Book of John. This would be a good time for you to go ahead and share this teaching as widely as possible to expand our reach with this Truth. This year is rushing by and for us in Maine Spring seems to be almost in our grasp, but we have another full month before we should get really excited. It has been quite the ride since the 3rd of November 2020, much has happened and much remains. Let us not turn loose of our faith, the Witness in our heart, nor should we stop believing the Prophets. The featured picture today depicts (portray) Jesus appearance to His disciples on the same day as His Resurrection after His appearance to Mary Magdalene. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 20:17-19 (KJV)
17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.
19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
We find the disciples that were with Jesus three years, had heard the Master in person, had seen thousands of miracles, and had been told just a short time ago that He would be killed at Jerusalem and rise the third day in great fear.
Matthew 16:21 (KJV)
21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
Perhaps today we look askance at these disciples who are hiding from the Jews and who do not believe Mary Magdalene, but should we? Remember that these are natural men, unsaved men (and women). Nobody was saved in the Old Testament however that is all about to change. Their spirit man is dead, not alive to God, separated from God, unable to hear from God, or be led of the Holy Spirit. The “fruits of the spirit” including faith and love are operating on a natural level. The God level of love (agape) was not operational in any of these Old Testament saints. As you may recall the Holy Spirit (Anointing) had been placed upon the twelve and then the seventy but they did not have the indwelling Holy Spirit as we have from the moment of salvation. They never experienced a quickening of their spirit man. All of that is about to change!
As we examine verse nineteen carefully, we find that the doors were shut and Jesus was found standing in the midst of them. The New Living Translations adds another dimension to this verse.
John 20:19 (NLT)
19 That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! “Peace be with you,” he said.
This and other translations add the information that the doors were not only closed but locked. So, how did Jesus enter the room? Jesus has a solid flesh and bone body.
Luke 24:36-40 (KJV)
36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
