THE FATHER SENT ME – I SEND YOU

Greetings to the saints of God and those who are pre-saints of God. We welcome all to The Three Minute Word blog. Please take a moment right now to share these teachings as widely as possible to expand our reach of the Truth. The featured picture today is of First Lady Donna and myself. I talked, taught, about ‘peace’, the peace of God, our peace last week and the last three days. I believe there is a very important concept to be inculcated (instilled) into our thinking, our knowledge, that extends to other areas of our spiritual understanding. I hope we are seeing the power; the importance of ‘peace’. The importance of peace is made obvious when we hear Jesus quickly repeat the peace command.
One of the things that is virtually absent from the Church at large is who we are in Christ Jesus and with it peace. The devil(s) have not lost sight of who we are, however, they have done an outstanding job of robbing us of this knowledge. So long as we do not understand who we are, what we are, what our potential is, the extent of our authority and the Power backing that authority, we are of very little threat to the kingdom of darkness. If we can just begin to understand who we are, what we are, in Christ Jesus. We are not altogether unlike God like our cats and dogs are unlike us (yes, they are not human). We are exactly like God absent the unique attributes of God which are omnipresence (simultaneously present everywhere), omnipotence (all powerful), and omniscience (all knowing). What do you say we go about the business of trading our ignorance for knowledge with faith and all for the glory of God? Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 20:19-21 (KJV)
19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
As you will recall, the Resurrection of Jesus occurred just a few hours ago. Three days before He hung on the Cross shedding His precious Blood redeeming us out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of God. He took the curse of sin in His body so we do not have to suffer the curse of sin in our bodies, by His stripes we were healed. He had been in Hell so that we don’t have to go. He preached the gospel to the captives in the Bosom of Abraham until He, the Messiah, could come. At His resurrection they were also resurrected and He, Jesus, escorted them into the presence of the Father. He has appeared to Mary Magdalene and taken His Precious Blood to the Mercy Seat of Heaven, which now speaks forever of our redemption. Now, Jesus, the Risen Savior, fully restored as God, appears in the midst of His disciples. Remember, the doors are not only closed but locked.
The very first thing Jesus says to these disciples and by extension to us is “Peace be unto you”, and He is about to repeat it in verse twenty-one. I think our major take away is that this is vitally important. The peace of God, the development of the peace in our spirit man, is vital and is intimate with our identity. This peace is not an emotion, emotions are not a part of our spirit man, but of our soul. This peace is not just a calm demeanor, it is the result of faith in the knowledge, the reality of our peace. Peace like all the other fruits of the spirit (our spirit) have to be exercised in knowledge by faith to be a working reality in our lives. The development of these fruits as in the rest of our Christian walk is intimately tied to effective spiritual warfare. Now let’s look a little further at verse twenty-one.
John 20:21 (KJV)
21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
Jesus does not waste any time getting to their and our assignment. Interestingly the word “sent” and “send” are altogether different words. The word ‘sent’ is the transliterated Greek word apostellō meaning to be set apart according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. You can easily see the word ‘apostle’ in this word.
Hebrews 3:1 (KJV)
1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
On the other hand, the word ‘send’ is the transliterated Greek word pempō meaning to dispatch according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Jesus tells them and us that we are dispatched to do the work of the Kingdom of God. Is that our focus?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
