Greetings, God’s Word is being served so let us sit right up to the table and make it a part of us. This is what the Apostle James in the Book of James calls engrafting the Word.
James 1:21 (KJV)
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Those of you who have been reading The Three Minute Word for a while know that on Tuesdays I encourage us all to pray for our nation. All nations need prayer and whatever nation you are in God has commanded you pray for that nation, and we are all commanded to pray for and bless Israel. Without Israel and the Blood Covenant forged with Abraham we were without hope. Today I am highlighting Texas. I have posted a picture of the Capital located in Austin Texas, a map of Texas locating it within the United States, and the Texas flag. Texas was the 28th state admitted to the Union on December 29, 1845 during the administration of our 11th President James K. Polk. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) The United States is a Covenant nation with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and Texas like all the other states acknowledges that fact. Read the following preamble to the Texas State Constitution.
CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF TEXAS 1876
PREAMBLE
Humbly invoking the blessings of Almighty God the people of the State of Texas, so ordain and establish this Constitution.
Yesterday I talked about two types of knowledge and the significance of that upon our understanding “of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;” This mystery was hidden in God, not from us, but for us. The mystery was hidden from the devil and even the Holy Angels.
Ephesians 3:9-12 (KJV)
9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
From our text in Colossians 2:1-3 we see that the knowledge which was hid is the riches of assurance of understanding the trinity of God. God is One yet He is three, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. There are those like the Muslims who call us polytheistic (many Gods) but we are not for our God is One God with three persons, manifested personalities, and manifestations. Just as you and I are spirit, soul, and body so is God. The One we now call Father is the soul, the One we now call Jesus, is the body, and the One called Holy Spirit is the spirit of God. Before the womb of the Virgin Mary the second person of the Godhead did not have a physical body, God was totally Spirit. A perfect, sinless man (spirit, soul, and body) sinned (Adam) so a perfect sinless man (Jesus) had to pay the price, anything else was inferior, inadequate. The life of God was again (first in the Garden, next at Calvary) made available to mankind by the sinless shed blood of Jesus, the only adequate price God could pay to erase the penalty of sin.
When Adam sinned the spirit man died instantly, the soul (mind) was corrupted, contaminated, and the physical body became corruptible on a course to death first through aging then by sickness and disease. When Jesus on the Cross took our sin becoming sin in our place His spirit man died, God the Son died, the body died when Jesus yielded up His ghost (total spirit). His mind however unlike Adam was uncorrupted therefore He pleaded His case in Hell and the justice of God brought Him forth and He was restored to the Godhead. He was redeemed just the same way we are, by the Word of His testimony and the Blood of the Lamb.
I will pick up here tomorrow for I don’t want anyone to go away thinking God created or made Adam to fail.
