THE PROPHETIC VOICE – PART FIVE
DO PROPHETS WALK THE LAND – ARE THEY RELEVANT
Sunday – July 21, 2019, Tamuz 18, 5779

Greetings my dear friends and partners of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word Blog. As you will recall I am teaching on the topic of prophecy and Prophets. God is so very good my friends. Walk with Him and you will see. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to give feedback to me and to expand the reach of this Ministry and this Truth. As we move forward let’s give our attention to the following passage of Scripture as a whole and as it relates to Prophets and prophecy.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 (KJV)
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
Starting in verse sixteen (sixteen is the number of love) we find the command to rejoice. This is not a holy suggestion or something that God thinks might be good for us on occasion. Through the Apostle Paul He is commanding us to rejoice, be glad now and forever independent of our apparent circumstances. This is not closet gladness or gladness (rejoicing) that we do when the music is cranked up, or for show on Sunday morning but at all times and in all times. One might say; “Dr. Wood you just don’t know what I’m facing or what is going on with me and how I feel”. Perhaps not, but I know Who does and so do you. Is our God, and you in Christ Jesus (who is God) greater than any circumstance or is our God and we subject to circumstances? Was Jesus’ life and Ministry dictated by circumstances or the voice of the Father? What about you and me?
As we move forward into verse seventeen (number of victory), we are given the command to pray without ceasing, again, not a holy suggestion, or a try too, but a do it. Bad enough we have to rejoice and be glad all the time especially when we don’t feel like it and now God is saying to pray without ceasing. Surely, He is kidding. My observation is that He is not kidding and He is not doing this to drive us crazy but to protect us and give us the abundant life Christ Jesus died for on Calvary. Keep in mind that praying is communication with God and can be silent or aloud. We are to include God in all of our life and activities.
Next, in verse eighteen (number of bondage) we are given the command to give thanks in everything. In another place we are commanded to give thanks for all things.
Ephesians 5:20 (KJV)
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
In the absence of thanksgiving we will be held in bondage to the enemy. These verses were extraordinarily difficult when Patti first moved to Heaven until the Lord gave me light on the subject, the proper interpretation and approach. We don’t give thanks because we feel like it, we do it by our will and because the Lord said so, end of story, period. For example, we do not give thanks that a loved one died but we do give thanks that they are free of the curses in this world and are whole in Heaven. All the same event but a whole different look, God’s look.
Verse nineteen (number of faith) commands that we quench not the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, more specifically the manifestations of the Holy Spirit through people. Holy Spirit manifests through yielded vessels not independent of people. These manifestations of the Holy Spirit are in part the nine gifts of the Spirit and the expressions of the Five-Fold Ministry (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher). We must have faith in God. Can people really mess up at times, you betcha, but our God is very able to fix anything that comes from a yielded sincere obedient vessel. If you are looking for a reason to leave a particular Church, if you are unwilling to yield to God who put you there, and submit to the leadership, the devils will cough up something to offend us on a real regular basis. Quench means to extinguish.
This brings us to verse twenty (number of redemption) and the command to not despise prophesying. To despise a thing can mean anything from loathing to placing it in low esteem (to think little of). Also, the prophesying referenced here seems to be that of the Prophet and not an expression of the gift of prophecy. As you think about the command, and the meaning of the number twenty let’s look at the following verse as a reminder.
2 Chronicles 20:20 (KJV)
20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. (Bold added by Dr. Wood)
Really interesting that this is also verse twenty. Quite the coincidence don’t you think? (sarcasm) When we forbid prophesying or do not accord it a place of honor it seems that prosperity will be seriously hindered. The Kingdom of God moves forward in obedience to the voice of the Father accompanied by prosperity. Prosperity, money, is a defense and answers all questions.
Verse twenty-one (number of exceeding sin) tells us, commands us, to prove all things, to be good Bereans and hold fast (unbreakable grip) to the good, or Word of God. To fail to do this is sin pure and simple. Finally, verse twenty-two (number of light) commands us to abstain (avoid) “all appearance of evil”. Stay away from secular events to which you are not called by God to in some way be involved. This could include certain movies, music, events or locations where sin is celebrated. We all have family events like Christmas with the heathen in our families but minimize it, Jesus tells us to be very careful what we hear for it gets into our thoughts and contaminates Truth.
Mark 4:24 (AMP)
24 And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you—and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
