WE ARE TO BLESS ISRAEL AND BE A BLESSING

Welcome back to the trail of blood that started in Heaven and ends in Heaven. Jesus is the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world and with His Resurrection He took His very own Blood to the Mercy Seat of Heaven. In the mind, the reality of God, existence without time, the Redemption had already occurred when He breathed of Himself into the body of Adam. I will continue teaching today from my book, Awake, Arise, and Triumph, Book II, God’s Road to Redemption, chapter six. I concluded yesterday after starting the account of Abram and The Blood Covenant leading to the Cross and beyond, so that is where we will pick up today.
ABRAM/ABRAHAM – Part Two
Today I will continue with the account of Abram later named Abraham for this is critical to our redemption. Abram was brought by God out of Ur of the Chaldees, which is on the west bank of the Euphrates just before it joins the Tigris River (Genesis 15:7). In the eleventh chapter of Genesis, we find Abram’s father, Terah, moving with Abram, Sarai (Abrams wife), and Lot his grandson from Ur of the Chaldees to Canaan; and they dwelt at Haran. Terah dies at Haran. From the Genesis twelve text it seems that God had spoken to Abram and he brought his family. This is called disobedience.
Genesis 12:1-4 (KJV)
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. [2]
In verse one, God is again speaking and saying to Abram, “now”, implying He had said this before. Certainly, Genesis fifteen leads us to believe this as well.
Genesis 15:7 (KJV)
7 And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.
The LORD (JEHOVAH) does not say anything about taking Lot, but Abram does; and as you may know, this is nothing but trouble. Do not take people with you just because you may feel obligated or emotionally connected (soul tie). Abram may have felt like he needed to look after his brother’s (Haran) son – Lot. Abram is seventy-five when he leaves Haran. The LORD tells Abram that He will make him a great nation (Israel), He would bless him (personally and as a nation), make him well known (we see He kept that promise), and he would be rich and famous; so, he, Abram, could be a blessing to others.
Now verse three is critical. Here God gives us the basis for treating the nation of Israel with respect and giving her and her people honor and blessing. The Lord said to Abram I “bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee”. We also see the promise of the Messiah again coming into view. The LORD says, “In you Abram shall all families of the earth be blessed.” This word blessed may be to cause the curse to kneel, to speak well of, or to empower. Jesus, the seed of Abraham is certainly a blessing bringing redemption from the curse of sin and death and a way out of darkness into His marvelous light.
There is much I could write about Abram; but for the sake of brevity, without compromising the account, I will move to Genesis chapter fourteen. Here we find five kings confederate together, and they took certain people – women and the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah as well as Lot and his goods. So, Abram comes to the rescue and returns them all.
Genesis 14:16 (KJV)
16 And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people. More tomorrow.
TAKE HOME:
- In the life, the account of Abram/Abraham, partial obedience did not bring the full plan of God into view.
- If God promised verse two Genesis Chapter twelve to Abram we can walk in it as well. “I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing”.
- We can also claim verse three. The only change would be to say many families not all. “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed”. Dear ones we are to be a blessing to others and that only happens when we have financial overflow in our lives.
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
