THE WORD OF GOD, A MOST PRECIOUS GIFT
Wednesday – November 27, 2019, Cheshvan 29, 5780

Greetings dear friends and partners of this Ministry and welcome back to these powerful and in-depth Bible teachings as we go through the Book of John. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to give us feedback and expand the reach of the gospel. This is Thanksgiving week and we hope this is indeed a joyous week filled with thanksgiving for all. When we look for it, the Lord has done marvelous things in every one of our lives. Some of the photos this week are of the coast of Maine taken by Donna’s sister Lynn. The Friday photo will be of Donna and me and was taken at the Church of God International Headquarters in Cleveland Tennessee. Now, let’s turn our attention to our Bible Study and the primary text for today.
John 14:15-21 (KJV)
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
As I have mentioned many times before we are a most privileged people to have the Word of God. There is nothing more valuable, more precious, or more powerful than the Word of God. All of this is only true when the Word of God is spoken with unwavering faith, in love (agape), as led of the Holy Spirit. The Word of God provides the very best life now in this time and a wondrous life for eternity. I will be continuing today with the idea that love (agape) of God is demonstrated by doing the commandments of God of which loving Him and loving our neighbor are primary.
Please notice that verse fifteen and twenty-one are in essence the same, however, Jesus expounds on the Truth that obedience to the Word of God and love (agape) of God are one and the same thing. It is impossible even for God to separate the two for in essence they are part of the same thing. That is to say that God will always do what the Scripture says concerning each and every one of us (His very own commandments). Obedience to the Scripture is part and parcel of what defines love (agape). We cannot be doing the Scripture in faith or saying we love (agape) God without the other. Love (agape) and obedience (to Scripture) are inseparable for us and for God. For the remainder of today let’s dive into verse twenty-one. Oh, our God is so very good and forever faithful!
John 14:21 (KJV)
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
As we have discussed at length, in verse fifteen we saw that love of God is not possible without keeping His commandments. At some point not searching out and doing His commandments is a sin in and of itself. Ignorance is not an excuse concerning the laws of our nation and neither is it in the Kingdom of God. The life of a lazy Christian or one steeped in another gospel (corrupted word) will have a life filled with stealing, killing, and destruction. See my Saturday series on Traditions, Lies, and Truth. Please, please don’t make the fatal mistake of thinking that error only exists at the other fellas Denomination, Church, or house. It is rampant on every side and in almost every Church. We must all be diligent to be good Berean’s.
Acts 17:11 (KJV)
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Before we move forward, I am prompted to share about the Bible Numerology associated with this verse in Acts. Acts is the fifth Book of the New Testament and five is the number of grace and glory, both aspects of the Holy Spirit. Seventeen is the number of victory. Eleven is the number of alignment, alignment with God, with the holy Scripture. That sentence is somewhat redundant for one cannot be in alignment with God and not be in alignment with the Scripture, it is like saying you love (agape) but don’t do half of what He says. So, when we put this all together, we can say that by the Grace (favor) and Glory (manifest goodness) of God in alignment with the Word we have the victory. Isn’t the Word of God just so amazing? I will return to this topic on Friday. Tomorrow is a special Thanksgiving Special.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
