THE WORKS I DO YOU SHALL DO ALSO
Friday – November 8, 2019, Cheshvan 10, 5780

Greetings precious brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and welcome back to this illuminating and empowering Bible Study of the Book of John. As I have mentioned many times before the Word of God does not automatically become illumination or empowering. We must receive it as the Word of God, we must believe it as the Word of God, we must put it in first place as the Word of God, and we must do whatever corresponding action is called for in faith, motivated by love, and led of the Holy Spirit. The Word of God is a great and very precious gift that we must handle with the utmost of care and reverence. It you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to expand the reach of the good news. The featured pictures this week have been from around our home. Todays picture as usual is of Donna and me (on our wedding day), what joy and the joy continues for the glory of God. Remember, joy is a choice. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today.
John 14:9-12 (KJV)
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
There are many powerful lessons in our primary Bible text and they must be viewed as most valuable and guide our thinking and our words. When people see us, they should not be able to doubt God very long for the intensity of conviction by the Holy Spirit, and the manifestations of the glory of God. It is critical that we speak the Words He gives us and not our own for when we do mighty signs will follow just as in the ministry of Jesus. Today we see way too much powerless prayer, by powerless Christians. It must stop, the sons of God must come into manifestation, be revealed, and once again the world be turned upside down. As we pick up in verse eleven, we see Jesus telling them and us that if they can’t believe (have faith) in Him and the Father based on the Word then start by recognizing that the works are of God through Him. Let’s look at verse eleven in The Living Bible.
John 14:11 (TLB)
11 Just believe it—that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or else believe it because of the mighty miracles you have seen me do.
When we first come into the Kingdom of God there is much we do not know and do not understand. We must accept the Word as the Word of God and choose to believe it even when we don’t understand and have not seen it work in our lives or another’s. Throughout our Christian life we will from time to time be in a situation where we just can’t get our head around a situation. But God is faithful and gives us a Word and we just have to cling to that until the relief comes. This brings us to a verse that you hear me use frequently.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Let’s look at this same verse in The Living Bible.
John 14:12 (TLB)
12 “In solemn truth I tell you, anyone believing in me shall do the same miracles I have done, and even greater ones, because I am going to be with the Father.
Notice that this is in the form of a command and is given to every believer. Ask yourself if you are a believer. If the answer was yes then this command is to you. I am a believer so this command is to me as well. This command is not just for leadership but to all who believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ. To not be pressing toward this goal diligently is sin once you have this as revelation knowledge. As Jesus is giving His farewell talk to the disciples on the day He ascended into Heaven we see this repeated.
Luke 24:49 (KJV)
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Why did they need to wait for the baptism of the Holy Spirit and be endued with power from on high? So, they and we could do the things (miracles) Jesus did and even greater things.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
