TRADITIONS, LIES, and TRUTH – PART TWENTY-ONE
PSALM 91 – PART SIX
Saturday – June 8, 2019, Sivan 5, 5779
Greetings my dear partners and friends, the most diligent students (disciples) and those who most ardently cleave to the Lord. Dear brother and sister the rain laden glory clouds are forming, it will rain soon, however, there is much to do. Let us sharpen our ears and our willingness to follow the Master, and let our obedience be without delay dear ones. This particular weekly study on Saturday’s is focused on separating the traditions of men, and the doctrines of demons from the Truth of God. Until we do this in our own lives, in the local Church, and in the Church at large we will suffer defeat after defeat and walk in perpetual shame at each level.
Those of you who actually follow these teachings diligently know that I have been spending a lot of time in this area of prayer and decrees. Prayer by itself cannot stand alone nor can decrees, they are a complimentary pair. I am not talking about the “name it and claim it” mentality of years past although it was not totally incorrect it was very incomplete. Until we declare the thing in our Covenant, in unwavering faith, in love, led of the Spirit of God we will and cannot walk in the provision of God. Now, let’s review our primary Bible text below and move forward.
Psalm 91:14-16 (KJV)
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
The following is a personal testimony that hopefully will bring a real-life context and prospective to what I have been talking about. On January 30, 1997 I started to experience symptoms that were determined to be a heart attack. I went into cardiogenic shock which is a very serious condition of very low blood pressure (failure of the heart), fluid in the lungs, and insufficient pressure to properly perfuse the various organs. At this time, I was pursuing the Lord with all diligence but my understanding (common then and common now) was not correct due to corrupt teaching and therefore I was not fully in the place of refuge or the habitation of the Lord. This is a story of the mercy of God as I was pursuing His excellence. As I hung between earth and Heaven that night, I remember thinking and telling the Lord that “if this is my time alright but I think my family needs me”. With the Hand of God, the Cardiologist, a wonderful friend to this day, was able to open the vessel and imminent death was foiled. When I awakened several hours later in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit our text for today was at the front of my thoughts. It was the voice of God, telling me why I was still in the earth and not in Heaven.
Because I had set my love upon Him, He delivered me, He set me in a high place although at the moment it did not feel like it, and because I knew His name. I not only knew the name, Jesus, but that it was my name as well. The key issue here is the phrase; “because he hath set his love upon me”. This is Covenant talk. For a moment let us review Bible love, the love of God who is love and what that means. Bible love, the very highest level of love, God’s love for us and our love for Him and other peoples. There are three major components of this love.
- Selflessness
- Obedience to the Word of God
- Awareness of and practice of Blood Covenant principles
At that time, I did not have any understanding of Blood Covenant and only heard about it in passing in Sermons generally around Easter. I cannot say that I was fully pursuing or being selfless as taught by Scripture. I was, however, pursuing obedience to the Word of God and was hungering after a full understanding of His wonderful plan for us, His people. I did call upon Him in the midst of the heart attack and He responded because of my obedience, He had the legal right to respond to me. He did answer me with this Scripture, He did deliver me, and He was certainly with me in that trouble. Since that day He has favored me with revelation of the Word of God, a place of honor. It is now over 22 years and my heart is normal. He is indeed giving me a long life, I am in a place of wonderful satisfaction, and walking in the fulness of His salvation. Our God is so good. Brother and sister, I have made the Lord my refuge, my habitation (I have decreed it), and He has kept His Word to me (I am in that place of protection and abundance). As I am obedient to the Word of God on behalf of the Kingdom, He is obedient to the Word of God towards me. That is not to say strong storms have not swirled about me but they did not sink me because everyday I pursue the refuge, the secret place, the habitation of the Lord.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
