WE ARE ONE IN HIM

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this enlightening and powerful Bible Study of the Book of John. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible. We hope that you are enjoying the fall pictures this week. Be reminded to joint our Wednesday Night Bible Study on Zoom at 6 pm Eastern Time. Please message me for the meeting id and password so that you can enter the meeting. Come expecting wonderful things. God is so very good to give us His Word so that being in His family, His Kingdom is not guesswork. Like any Kingdom there are benefits but they are obtained only by discharging the obligations of the Kingdom. One of those obligations is faith, actually believing God, His Word. How long will we be slack? Let us choose to be like Caleb and fully occupy our Promised Land purchased by the precious Blood of Jesus.
Numbers 13:30-32 (KJV)
30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.
32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.
How long will we choose to bring evil reports to ourselves, to each other, to the Church, and even to the world? How long will we not receive, believe, think, speak, and act upon the Word of God? Are we going to continue to preach how wonderful the promises (really present realities by faith) of God are but then put them off into the sweet bye and bye?
Numbers 13:27-29 (KJV)
27 And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.
28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.
29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.
They started off good reporting exactly what God said they would find and was already theirs but then they gave an evil report. Let us abandon all evil reports and choose the reports of the Lord.
Isaiah 53:1 (KJV)
1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
The Arm (capitalized due to the divine person of the Holy Spirit) of the Lord is revealed to those who believe! Now let’s turn our attention to our study of the Book of John and read the text aloud, yes, out loud.
John 17:20-23 (KJV)
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
As we again fix our gaze, our thoughts, our attention on verse twenty-one of our text notice that Jesus says the Father is in Him and He is in the Father, thus they are one. A part of Christian speech, belief, is the idea that God is One but also three persons. I don’t know that we have a perfect (likely not) concept or way of thinking about this but here is my take on the idea. I believe that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are three distinct co-equal persons which can be seen as distinct from each other. This is much like three different people who can be seen as distinct from each other. However, their thoughts, words, and actions are not in the least at variance one with the other. Having said that, there are reports of those who have gone to Heaven and on returning reported seeing Jesus going into and out of the Father.
When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are in Christ Jesus but also in the Father and in the Holy Spirit. We are baptized into them, that is fully immersed.
Matthew 28:19 (KJV)
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
This is not talking about water baptism, there is nothing in the context to suggest water baptism, but it is talking about being fully immersed in God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We become fully identified with God, the three persons of the co-equal Triune God having been taken out of the kingdom of darkness. At salvation the Holy Spirit comes within, quickens (makes alive) our spirit and lives in and is with us for eternity. Our becoming fully identified with God and not the world is a witness to the world that they believe that Jesus, the Messiah, has indeed come.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
