YOUR BROTHER SHALL RISE AGAIN
Wednesday – July 17, 2019, Tamuz 14, 5779

Greetings precious brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and welcome back to this insightful and powerful Bible Study of the Book of John. Our God, the only Living God, is so good to us, giving us explicit insights into the Kingdom of God of which we are citizens on assignment in the earth. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment and share these teaching with your friends with the “share” button or even “tag” your friends making it more certain they will see this and perhaps value it enough to read. There is nothing more powerful or valuable than the Word of God, period. The featured pictures this week will be of various scenes here in Maine. Today is another picture of the covered bridge in Newry Maine. On Friday I will feature a picture of yours truly and his newly minted bride. Now, let’s delve into our Bible Study by first reading our primary Bible text.
John 11:22-27 (KJV)
22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
As we review our primary Bible text, we first come to verse twenty-two. Twenty-two (22) is the number of light. Light is the Word of God whether it be the printed, spoken, or the Word Himself, now Christ Jesus. With the coming of Christ (the Word, the Messiah) a great light re-entered the earth for all men (peoples). More pertinent to our text however is that Martha has great light, revelation, at least in this area of walking with God. She has great faith that Jesus could have healed her brother and now that Jesus can and will raise her brother from the dead. She in fact believes that anything Jesus asks of God will be done for Him. Do we have that testimony? Do you find verse twenty-three to be at least a little bit curious?
John 11:23 (KJV)
23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
Jesus is telling Martha that Lazarus will rise again implying that he has risen once already. Is that what it says? As we read further it is obvious that Jesus and Martha are in perfect sync one with the other. Are we in perfect sync (on the same page) with Jesus? Martha’s response to Jesus is to repeat what Jesus said. Is that our response to what Jesus said, saying, the Word of God? Or do we hedge our bets throwing in some words of doubt?
John 11:24 (KJV)
24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
Both Martha and Jesus have spoken as if the Lazarus has already risen from the dead once yet he is still in the tomb. Do we have that kind of faith? When our children are wild, our marriage is on the rocks, our finances are in the ditch, or our health is touch and go do we say what the Word says (Jesus) or something else in addition or something else altogether? Martha knows that there is a resurrection for all in the future and that in addition to the raising of Lazarus from the dead this day, he will die and raise from the dead again in the resurrection of the last day. As we know, I hope we all know, this resurrection she spoke of that day and we speak of to this day is when Christ Jesus returns for the Church, the Rapture or Catching Away. This brings us to a most wonderful verse.
John 11:25 (KJV)
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Because of Jesus there is a resurrection, because of Jesus there is eternal life. We all were once spiritually dead but now those in Christ Jesus are alive, once without hope now with abundant eternal overflowing hope and an unfolding joyous eternal reality in the Kingdom of God.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
