AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

THE GREATER THINGS – PART FORTY-FOUR
Greetings to all, another Sunday is upon us, let us rejoice as we go to the House of the Lord. Welcome back to our Sunday blog focused on the greater works Jesus commanded. Our move to Texas is complete, we are temporarily in an Airbnb until we find the perfect for us home. The closing on our home in Maine is the second of July and we expect the Lord to bring us the right home after that if not before. We believe the Lord has the perfect place in mind for us already. Our God is so good dear ones. Please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible to increase our reach with the Truth. Now, let’s turn our attention to the primary text we have been using and explore its origins.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Last Sunday I left off with starting to establish the foundation for our primary text, that is to say another witness. Those of you that know me and have followed this blog for any length of time know that all the Truth started or has its foundation in the beginning, the original intent of God. I want to just take a second to remind us all that our lives are not to consist of words but the confirming Power of God. Again, listen to the Apostle Paul.
1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (KJV)
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
We are not to just give wonderfully crafted sermons or teachings but show the goodness of God in the demonstration of His Power by the Holy Spirit. Jesus preached, taught everywhere, the people came to hear and to be healed. They had to hear something, that is how faith comes. Never once did Jesus say that His faith made them whole, it was always their faith that made them whole. I can have faith for your healing all day long but until you have faith for your healing you will remain oppressed of the devil. Now, let’s review some of what we discussed last Sunday and move forward. God’s original intent for mankind was for them to have all authority (dominion) in the earth and we find that in the following verse.
Genesis 1:26 (KJV)
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Mankind bowed their knee to the Serpent and transferred that authority to him. Good news, the Messiah (Jesus the Christ) came and got it and then some back.
Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV)
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The word “power” in verse eighteen is authority, the same as dominion. Notice the phrase “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you” in verse twenty. This is a second witness to John 14:12 as well. The word “observe” in this text is not to look at but to do. What things were they and we to do, everything Jesus did and the greater works. In the beginning after God gave mankind all authority, He gave them the Power (the Blessing) to accomplish all they were to do.
Genesis 1:28 (KJV)
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
In the preceding verse we find four of the seven commands of the Eden Mandate, these are eternal commands. They are to be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, and subdue the earth. I think you can see here the basis for the command to do as Jesus did and greater works.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
