AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

MY PEOPLE ARE GONE INTO CAPTIVITY
Greetings precious people of God, and welcome back to this insightful and empowering study of the beautiful Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible to expand our reach. The featured picture today is of a beautiful sky and “old glory”. As we start once again to think about our main study let’s ask ourselves a question. Who is the Lord talking to through Isaiah? We tend to think it is other people. How convenient, when it is we ourselves who have left His path and entered captivity. As you will remember the Lord has been talking to His people for five chapters now. He is most merciful in that He sends many messengers, watchmen on the wall, before judgment. Why do we time after time choose to harden our hearts rather than soften them? We follow after the flesh, our emotions, and not wisdom (knowledge with understanding and application). The traditions of men and the doctrines of demons abound. The Church has many gods. God through the Isaiah is speaking to us down through time. Let’s prepare to dive into our study for today by first reading our primary Bible text aloud, yes, out loud. More on this in a moment.
Isaiah 5:13-15 (KJV)
13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.
14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
15 And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:
Hopefully all of you know why I continually say for us all to read these studies particularly the Scripture out loud.
Romans 10:17 (KJV)
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
The absence of faith displeases God and Hebrews 11:6 tells us that it is impossible to please God without faith. Does my life, your life demonstrate the fruit of faith? Whose words are we putting our faith in? Those are the words coming to pass in our lives. There is no victory without faith (in God, in His Word).
1 John 5:4 (KJV)
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. (Bold added)
Let’s take a brief look at two passages before we move on.
Deuteronomy 28:1-2 (KJV)
1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
Did you notice that listening “unto the voice of the LORD thy God” is central to the operation of The Blessing? The main way we hear the voice of the Lord is when we read Scripture out loud.
Deuteronomy 28:15 (KJV)
15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
If we are not listening to the voice of the Lord and doing His Word then we are listening to another and bringing curses into our lives. God tries to get our attention so He can bless us, the devils try to get our attention to bring the curse into our lives. It is not God, it is not the demons, it is we ourselves who make the choice. Why do we choose wrong so often? What is present in my life, in your life? Is it curses or blessings? The curse may come pretty regular but in Christ Jesus we make the choice to accept the curse of not. Our authority and Power in the name of Jesus led of the Spirit is far superior to any part of the curse, any demon, even Satan himself. Our enemies try to get us focused on the carnal and the Holy Spirit tries to get us to focus on the spiritual. One is death and the other is life and peace (Romans 8:6). Glancing back at Isaiah 5:13 we find God telling us that His people go into captivity due to a lack of knowledge. This knowledge is His revelation knowledge. This knowledge does not appeal to our emotions, our eye, our flesh, and certainly counters our pride. However, this knowledge is full of life, full of victory, full of abundance both spiritually and in the natural.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
