THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT
Friday – March 24, 2017

Greetings from The Three Minute Word publication. It is Friday so please be reminded to see how the Lord would have you to pray for the Church today.
Praise the Lord for another day to grow stronger in the Lord and accomplish the building of the Kingdom of God. We by faith are to go from victory to victory, a wonderful demonstration of the goodness of our God. The Lord Jesus came to give us a life with overflowing abundance but we must be sober and vigilant and we cannot slumber and sleep. This can and must be done with great joy. When you know that you can win every encounter with the devil no matter what the circumstances look like at the moment you and I can operate in joy. It must look crazy to the devil then suddenly his front teeth are missing in our obedience before the Lord and certainly makes no sense to the world until they see the mighty Arm of God in action in our lives. A wonderful and powerful witness observable to all.
Ephesians 6:10-11 (KJV)
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
We are not the Lone Ranger but we are an army of one when that one means that we do all things in union with the Lord. Ephesians 6:10 is a verse the Lord interposed between a lengthy discussion about submission and a lengthy discussion to follow about the armor of God. This verse is not advice, a suggestion, an example, but a command from the Lord. We are to be strong in Him and in the Power of His Might. We are made strong in submission liberating the whole power of God. The number ten is the number of responsibility, in this case it is our responsibility to be strong in the Lord. We have the mandate, the responsibility, to do whatever is necessary to put us in the proper position in Him. We can be in Him but doing our own thing and all sorts of degrees of that or we can be in Him and in His perfect will. Which one of these is going to do the things He did and the greater things?
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
To be in the Lord means that we are completely immersed in Him, in His thoughts, His Words, and His ways. We are consuming the Policy and Procedure Manual and mimicking Him like a child the parent or another person they admire. We are in His image and His likeness, we were created of like kind with God, we are His beloved children and He is looking for us to mature and become sons who build the Kingdom, the family name. Our other duty or responsibility found in Ephesians 6:10 is that we are to not only be strong fully immersed in the Lord but we are to rely entirely on the power of his might. Our strength is in Him and not in our natural selves. The word ‘strong’ in our target verse has the meaning of being endowed with power or strengthened. In this case the endowment, the strengthening comes from the Lord. He only endows and strengthens those who are maturing and the level of endowment and strength is dependent on our level of proven maturity. To think of this another way, the more we are in His image and likeness the more we will think like Him, the more we will talk like Him, and the more we will act like Him and therefore we will be doing the things He did and delving into the greater things. Oh, what a life He has given us to live, when will we take hold of it and let go of our natural abilities.
Ephesians 6:10 (KJV)
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
The word translated to the English word ‘power’ here is the Greek word ‘kratos’ transliterated to English. This is resurrection power. This is the same word used in Ephesians 1:19 below and the word ‘might’ of Ephesians 6:10 is the same as ‘mighty’ in Ephesians 1:19.
Ephesians 1:19-20 (KJV)
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
This mighty power that raised Jesus from the dead and restored Him as God at the right hand of Majesty on High is the same mighty power we have at our disposal and it is the same mighty power that will one day transform our corruption to incorruption.
