YES, THERE IS AN ESCAPE and INDEPENDENCE DAY
Tuesday – July 4, 2017

Today, July 4th commemorates the day when the Declaration of our Independence from England was proclaimed in 1776. That was a wonderful day and birthed a nation who chose to covenant with God and as a result has produced an exceptional people, a light to the world as the major source of the gospel, and who has stood in the way of the devil bringing absolute chaos into the earth. Let us pray for our nation, that it be one nation under God so all peoples can see the goodness of God through us.
Greetings and welcome to our Bible Study from the Book of Hebrews presented by Dr. Wood and The Three Minute Word publications. I am thankful to our Lord Jesus, for another day in the earth to further the Kingdom of God. Our goal brother and sister is not to get to Heaven. Our goal is to accept this wonderful salvation given us of God through the Cross of Calvary and to do our duty concerning the furtherance of this Kingdom of God. What we do in this earth has eternal consequences for us, for others, and the whole of the Kingdom of God. For example, how large the Kingdom is at the catching away (commonly called the Rapture) and the number of people counted as part of that Kingdom that day is directly dependent on our obedience. Are we enlarging Hell or enlarging the Kingdom of God? Now back to our text from this wonderful Book of Hebrews.
Hebrews 2:1-4 (KJV)
1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
Our escape from the curse (stealing, killing, and destroying) in this life and Hell in eternity is this “great salvation” spoken of from the Garden of Eden, our Lord in His earthly ministry, His ministers from the beginning to this day, and here in the Book of Hebrews. This is the total and complete deliverance from the curse of sin, the spiritual law of sin and death, and the return of the Blessing with our complete restoration in the image and likeness of God, of like kind in Him (Jesus). As a part of The Blood Covenant commonly called The New Testament, God the Father voluntarily, even joyfully, put Himself in a position where He is required to do for us in Christ Jesus what He did for Jesus. When Jesus was made sin in our stead and on our behalf, He was separated from the Father which is spiritual death. Because Jesus was innocent justice demanded full restoration. Jesus was restored to eternal spiritual and physical life and beyond that He was restored to His fulness as God. The Word (Jesus) did not have a body before the womb of the virgin Mary but He made Himself like unto us and blazed the way for our glorious future as whole persons (spirit and body).
In Christ Jesus, we also are innocent and the Father has restored us as living souls and we are fully in His likeness and image with restoration of full authority and the capacity to enforce that authority with the Blessing. The fulness of God’s power can only flow through us or be activated as a consequence of our words (His Words in our mouth) as we choose complete harmony with the Father. We are now, once again, just a little lower than Elohim (God in fulness) and as led of the Spirit direct the works of His hands (Holy Spirit, and angels). Jesus came out of the grave with a resurrection body, what is commonly referred to as a glorified body and we are awaiting ours very soon. This new, restored, body is indestructible with zero evidence of the curse, no more aging, thank you Jesus. This new body with a pure spirit can move in space independent of time. We can choose to walk about, run about, or translate from one place to another in the blink of an eye, we will move about in the physical sphere unhindered (no more opening doors). The alternative to all this is to burn in Hell for eternity. One consequence of neglecting this great salvation purchased at great price by our Lord and given to all who will receive Him as a gift is eternal damnation in Hell. Another consequence of neglecting this great salvation is when we take the ticket to Heaven but we choose to neglect the rest of salvation. We than live an unproductive life filled with stealing, killing, and destroying never doing the will of God.
Now let’s turn our attention more fully to the next verse.
Hebrews 2:4 (KJV)
4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
Does this sound familiar?
Mark 16:15-20 (KJV)
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Many of you are well aware that I frequently refer back to the beginning, what God said to Adam in the Garden of Eden and how those orders are an ongoing mandate forever. By way of a reminder we are commanded (not a holy suggestion) to be fruitful, to multiple, to replenish the earth, to subdue the earth (Genesis 1:26-28), take care of the earth (stewardship), guard the Kingdom, and not to mix the knowledge of good and evil Genesis 2:15-17). Obedience to God results in a perfect performance of these commands and great reward; however disobedience of these commands is an invitation for the curse to enter our lives. We then invite in stealing, killing, and destroying. Tomorrow we will pick up with this passage from Mark and expand upon it as the Lord leads.
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
