A TABERNACLE MADE

Another day given of God to submerge ourselves into the Word of God purposing in our hearts to make His Word indistinguishable from our words. The featured picture is of the first snow (December 10) at our place in Maine, with I am sure many to follow. This shot is from the side, behind that garage door is a wonderful and heated garage, if you look closely you will see that our friends at Amazon have left something for us at the entry door, and just to the right you will see our backup generator with the propane tanks hidden behind the fir trees at the extreme right of the picture. God is so very good. Now, I will dive right back into our Bible Study from the wonderful Book of Hebrews. As you can see we are plunging into the ninth chapter.
Hebrews 9:1-7 (KJV)
1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.
6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
The ordinances of divine service are the instructions to the priests which were exact as to how the sacrifice was to be handled. Improper handling or entry into the Tent of Meeting which housed the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place had severe consequences.
Leviticus 10:1-2 (KJV)
1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.
2 And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.
Disobeying the commands of the Lord, perverting His instructions, or lying about our service can be just as consequential today. God will not be mocked (Galatians 6:7). Consider the following account, and believe me this is returning to the Church. As you read remember this is under the New Blood Covenant.
Acts 5:1-10 (KJV)
1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.
8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.
9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.
Yes, they lied to the man of God and to the people of God present in the place but at the heart of the matter was their lie to the Holy Ghost. The main issue was not the holding back or keeping a part of the price of the land they had sold, it was lying and saying they were giving the whole price when they were not giving all. They could have just said we sold some land and want to contribute a certain amount of money from the sale. Had they been honest this story, at least about Ananias and Sapphira, would not be present in our Bibles, they perhaps could have gone on to great things for the Kingdom of God. When we chose to sin, we open the door to Satan in our lives. Sin brings down the inpenetrable hedge of protection provided by the Holy Spirit down. This allows Satan some degree of stealing, killing, and destroying in our lives. God has to allow Satan access when he brings a case and our thoughts, words, and actions confirm it, we are the confirming witness in our own destruction. In this case it opened the door and Satan was allowed to take their lives. I suspect they are in Heaven but what an awful testimony. Let us purpose in our hearts to not have this testimony or that of Aaron’s sons.
