TRADITIONS, LIES, and TRUTH – PART FOUR
Saturday – February 9, 2019, Adar A 4, 5779
Greetings dear saints of God and welcome back to these illuminating teaching concerning the traditions and lies told in Church as Truth which keep the Church powerless just as it was in Jesus day. These corrupted (by man and devils) ideas and words are heard in the conversations among the congregants, in the song service, and from the pulpit. I will get to the specifics of what I am talking about in the course of time in this series. First, I will continue laying a firm foundation for in many ways this is huge in preventing victory. Error in the Word of God makes it not the Word of God and therefore another word, it is another gospel. Error is perpetuated from generation to generation due to a lack of study, diligence, and not constantly asking ourselves how do we know this is true and where are the confirming 2 – 3 witnesses? The Holy Scripture is a self-proving Book requiring no extra-biblical support. It is nice when outside literature, research, archeological findings and so on prove or support a Scripture text but we believe the Scripture because God said it, period. Many who have been taught the traditions of men, the lies of devils, and have not heard the Truth or have rejected the Truth may even revile the messenger of the Truth. After all that is what happened to the Apostle Paul and Silas at Thessalonica (Acts 17:1-11). Listen to the Apostle Paul in a letter to Corinth.
1 Corinthians 14:37-40 (KJV)
37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
Perhaps The Living Bible translation will add some clarity.
1 Corinthians 14:37-40 (TLB)
37 You who claim to have the gift of prophecy or any other special ability from the Holy Spirit should be the first to realize that what I am saying is a commandment from the Lord himself.
38 But if anyone still disagrees—well, we will leave him in his ignorance.
39 So, my fellow believers, long to be prophets so that you can preach God’s message plainly; and never say it is wrong to “speak in tongues”;
40 however, be sure that everything is done properly in a good and orderly way.
The bottom line is that if a person or body of people will not receive the Truth, we are not to strive with them but leave them in their ignorance. We are instructed by Scripture to rightly divide the Word so let’s take a look at that reference. Of course, God tells us this in many ways throughout Scripture for example when He told Joshua to meditate upon His Word day and night.
2 Timothy 2:14-16 (KJV)
14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (Bold added by Dr. Wood)
16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
Rightly dividing the Word of Truth will bring the results God has promised to us. When we have faith in the Word, in God, in the name of Jesus, motivated by love, and led of Holy Spirit we will cause the promises of God to manifest in our lives. They will not become a reality by begging, or asking God to do our part and His, but by declaring the Word of God, then God will back His Word (read Mark 16:20 and take it seriously).
Joshua 1:8 (KJV)
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Notice that the Word of Truth expressed here as the “book of the law” was not to depart from his mouth and in so doing Joshua would make his way prosperous full of good success. If Joshua did not rightly divide the “book of the law” and he meditated on a corrupted word would he make his way prosperous and have good success? I hope you know the answer is “no” and it is “no” in our lives as well. Many things can lead to the failure of the supernatural to manifest in our lives. One is not rightly dividing the Word of God, the Truth and thus God will not perform a lie. Not being led of the Spirit, not acting in love (wrong motivations), having unbelief, and an unscriptural hope. An unscriptural hope (target of our decree or prayer) for example would be to pray for someone else’s wife or husband, or anything that fractures, violates, the laws of God.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
