WHO IS YOUR FATHER?
Thursday – April 4, 2019, Adar B 28, 5779

Greetings precious saints of God and greetings to those who are not saints of God and all are welcome to this powerful Bible Study of the Book of John. The featured picture is of Mae Ramsey’s store in Readfield Depot, Maine just a couple of hundred yards from where my grandfather lived. This picture from just a few years ago shows a nearly fallen down structure but it was not that way when I was a little boy going there with my grandfather or when I went to Mae for my Marriage License. In those days He would buy me either an orange crush or chocolate soda from a water circulating cooler.
Now back to our Bible Study. God is so good to give us illumination of the path we must walk to please Him and have the most successful life possible. Thinking the path, we might choose is better and more full of fun then God’s wonderful path is ignorance and darkness on steroids. That kind of thinking, speaking, and actions is open rebellion against God. I wish I could put it more delicately, no I don’t, that is the Truth. If you are reading this on Facebook take just a moment and hit the “like” and “share” buttons to expand the reach of these teachings. God is so good dear brothers and sisters. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text reading it aloud to put it in our eyes, our mouth, and our ears. It seems that the Holy Spirit wants me to remind us all that faith comes by hearing but faith is not activated by hearing but by believing the Words of God, speaking the Word of God nothing wavering, receiving what is as yet unseen, and it will manifest, no if, ands, or buts. Now, to our text.
John 8:38-41 (KJV)
38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
As I have mentioned many times before, Jesus is not the least bit politically correct. Jesus is telling the Jews gathered that day and to us this day, that we must examine ourselves as to whose words we are speaking. Are we speaking words that just seem like a good idea to us or are they God ideas? Jesus told them He was speaking the Word of the Heavenly Father and they are speaking the words of the devil, a fallen angel who is even less than a fallen man. They were in bandage to sin, to a fallen angel who comes as and angel of light but is in reality dense darkness. His most intense work is in the Church and especially the leadership. We all must examine our thoughts, and our words daily to be sure they reflect the pure cleansing Word of God and not a corrupted version which is taking us deeper and deeper into darkness which we think is light. Dear saints of God, prove for yourself, every thought and every word by the Word of God. Not what someone told you the Word of God said but what you see with diligence that the Word of God says. For a moment, let’s take a look at two verses from our text in a different Bible translation for added clarity.
John 8:39-40 (AMP)
39 They retorted, Abraham is our father. Jesus said, If you were [truly] Abraham’s children, then you would do the works of Abraham [follow his example, do as Abraham did].
40 But now [instead] you are wanting and seeking to kill Me, a Man Who has told you the truth which I have heard from God. This is not the way Abraham acted.
What was the act or the acts of Abraham? Principally it was the exercise of faith with a faith declaration and corresponding actions. Abraham did not want to hinder the coming of Messiah, He received the Word of God, had He not, he would not have been the father of us all as we studied yesterday. The Seed (Christ Jesus) came as a result of the faith of Abraham. By faith, Abraham was willing to enter into a Blood Covenant with the Almighty God. As we see in verse forty Jesus points out to the Jews that Abraham received the Truth, they have rejected the Truth, Abraham believed God and they have not. Abraham could have at a minimum delayed the plan of God if he had rejected the outreach of God for a seed that would redeem all of mankind. In the following passage Jesus is that “corn of wheat” that was sown for us all. We are the fruit born of that wonderful sacrifice. Are we willing to lay down our lives (not physical death), our will for His?
John 12:23-25 (KJV)
23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
